The 56-year-old pop star and actress has opened up on how her 17-year-old twins Max and Emme – who she has with ex-husband Marc Anthony – help her “survive” her hectic schedule and a life in the spotlight.<\/p>\n
She told Extra: \u201cMy family for me is really the thing that made me who I am, that helps me be able to survive in the chaos of this business. “You know, they know who I am and that\u2019s all that matters to me \u2014 my kids, my mom, you know, my loved ones, my team.<\/p>\n
“They know who I am, and that for me is such a groundling presence in my life that I\u2019m able to do and withstand so much and stick to the passion of what I love to do and keep my eye on the prize all the time \u2014 keep my eye on, you know, the important things, which is love and family, and their support is everything for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
J-Lo’s mother Guadalupe Rodriguez joined her at the New York City premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman this week, and she hailed her the “best daughter a mother can have”.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to the same outlet, she said: “I\u2019m so proud of her. I\u2019m so blessed.<\/p>\n
\n“God gave me a wonderful daughter, you know, and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves because she\u2019s worked so hard for so many years, and I just love her to death.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe new film is building up some Oscar buzz, and Lupe hopes her daughter’s name is in the mix.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “My daughter has worked for over 30 years in this industry, and she more than deserves to win an Oscar or even get nominated.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWhen it comes to her own kids, Jennifer noted she was in a “brutal” phase a few years ago with the twins but now they get along in a “really beautiful” way.<\/p>\n
\nShe told Live with Kelly and Mark: “Now they\u2019re 17, they\u2019ll be 18 in February. They\u2019re graduating this June from high school and I feel like, we\u2019re close.<\/p>\n
\n“We\u2019re a close-knit three now. A lot has happened with us.<\/p>\n
\n“We had to bond together, you know what I mean? That kind of changed things and made it really beautiful for us.”<\/p>\n
