Comedian Caroline Timoney<\/strong> is reacting to Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> using her coined \u201cgirlboss\u201d phrase in her new song, \u201cCANCELLED\u201d off her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey guys, I wanna make this quick,\u201d Timoney said in a video shared via TikTok on Friday, October 3. \u201cI woke up this morning to discover that my TikTok audio that I made as a sophomore in college, \u2018I girlbossed too close to the sun,\u2019 you know, is in a Taylor Swift song.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles-based Timoney sprang to internet popularity after she published a video via TikTok in April 2021 in which she said, \u201cListen, I can\u2019t give any more information, but I fear I may have girlbossed too close to the sun.\u201d The audio has since been used in more than 20,000 videos on the platform.<\/p>\n

Swift, 35, also used the phrase in her song \u201cCANCELLED!\u201d in which she sings, \u201cDid you girlboss too close to the sun? \/ Did they catch you having far too much fun?\u201d<\/p>\n

Timoney quipped on Friday that she is clearly Swift\u2019s \u201cShakespeare.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. Do I see us as, you know, kind of co-writers, as fellow songwriters? \u2026 Yeah, all of it, all of the above,\u201d she joked in the reaction video. \u201cBut I haven\u2019t changed.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI\u2019ve forgotten a few, you know, names of friends and family, \u2018cause I\u2019m blowing up, so you know, this kind of thing happens. But I am genuinely so shocked.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCANCELLED!\u201d is just the latest in a slew of Swift songs that have caused online chatter, especially regarding who may be behind the ballad that calls out so-called cancel culture.<\/p>\n

Some fans believe the song<\/a> may be about Brittany Mahomes<\/strong>, wife of Travis Kelce\u2019s<\/strong> teammate, Patrick Mahomes<\/strong>, who has been criticized for her perceived political leanings.<\/p>\n
