Influencer Alix Earle<\/strong> is giving her followers new updates on her foster dog Asia\u2019s leg surgery.<\/p>\n After finding out over the summer that the pup had torn her ACL, Earle contacted Asia\u2019s adoptive mom to see how she could help. Ultimately the two of them decided it would be best for Earle to take over caring for Asia leading up to and following her surgery.<\/p>\n Earle then took Asia into her home on August 19 and began consultations and planning for the surgery. This included the pair flying to Los Angeles on a private plane due to commercial airline restrictions on pitbulls.<\/p>\n One month later, on September 19, Earle shared a TikTok vlog of the day of Asia\u2019s surgery.<\/p>\n \u201cThe surgery she\u2019s getting is called TPLO and its a pretty intense surgery cuz they have to cut into the bone on her leg and then I think like put some screws in or something, rotate it,\u201d Earle explained in the voiceover of the video<\/a>.<\/p>\n Earle then shared that the hardest part of the process was that she had to leave and let Asia stay overnight at the animal hospital following the surgery.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, then, for the recovery from the surgery, it\u2019s basically like three months,\u201d Earle continued in the video. \u201cThey\u2019re not gonna be able to, like, run, jump, jump on a couch, jump off a bed. So I set up this little, like, gated area in my apartment.\u201d<\/p>\n Then, Earle did the best she could to make Asia comfortable at home after picking her up the next day.<\/p>\n \u201cShe is not used to not sleeping in bed with me, so I spent like half the night sleeping on the floor with her because I just felt so bad,\u201d Earle said.<\/p>\n Earle then shared that Asia would have to wear a cone to keep her from licking her incisions for two weeks and that she was not loving it so far. This ended up being foreshadowing of what was to come, because Earle later shared in a September 30 TikTok that Asia had managed to wriggle her way out of the cone.<\/p>\n \u201cSomeone has been misbehaving,\u201d Earle said in the video<\/a>. \u201cAsia, what happened? Where did your cone come off? I feel so bad, but we\u2019re gonna have to put it back on.\u201d<\/p>\n Earle then shared with her followers that despite her naughtiness and dislike of the cone, Asia has been recovering well so far.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s been doing so well after her surgery. Her leg is actually healing really nicely,\u201d Earle said.<\/p>\n She then showed herself attempting to put the cone back on Asia as the pup pushed it away with her paw.<\/p>\n \u201cTwo more days, and then we\u2019re cone free. We\u2019re getting your stitches out and then we\u2019re cone free!\u201d Earle said, comforting Asia.<\/p>\n \u201cFun time is over, I\u2019m so sorry!\u201d Earle added as she slipped the cone back over Asia\u2019s head.<\/p>\n Earle has had a very busy month, balancing long hours of rehearsal for Dancing with the Stars<\/em><\/a> with caring for Asia, and taking her followers along for the journey.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
