Teddi Mellencamp has received some good news in her cancer battle<\/p>\n
\nThe 44-year-old star was first diagnosed with melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer, in 2022 before explaining earlier this year that the disease had progressed to stage 4 but has remarkably revealed that tests have shown that it is now “undetectable” – even though she was only given a 50-50 chance of survival after the disease metastasised to her lungs and brain.<\/p>\n
\nTeddi told the iHeartRadio podcast Two T’s in a Pod: “Just to give a little life update to you guys, I had my immunotherapy yesterday and they did my scans and at this point there is no detectable cancer.<\/p>\n
\n“I still need to be on immunotherapy for another year and I’m not considered in remission or anything like that.”<\/p>\n
\nThe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star explained that she was “numb” with shock after being told of the positive development in her cancer battle.<\/p>\n
\nMellencamp said: “When they told me, I was in such shock, I was numb. So I’m still going to be having days when I’m feeling sick and stuff because I am still in immunotherapy, so I’m still fighting because you have to be. <\/p>\n
\n“The way they (doctors) said it works, it’s like one year, then two years, then at three years you’re allowed to be considered… in remission. So, but that was huge news yesterday.”<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “All the tumours continued to shrink and everything. It’s been good. It’s a good day.”<\/p>\n
\nTeddi – who has children Slate, 12, Cruz, 11, and Dove, five, from her marriage to estranged husband Edwin Arroyave – explained that it is just her eldest who has been able to understand her health update so far.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “It’s just Slate that really understands. People think just because the cancer’s gone, that I can’t still get sick or whatever, but I’m still in treatment.”<\/p>\n
\nTeddi had taken to Instagram last month to ask for her followers to send positive messages as she was “struggling” with her illness.<\/p>\n
\nShe wrote: “Mondays, am I right?<\/p>\n
\n“Emotions high. Love to everyone out there. If I haven’t responded to your text, I love you. I am just struggling.<\/p>\n
\n“How are y’all doing? Would love to hear one of your positives from today.<\/p>\n
\n“Mine is: I feel very grateful for the people in my life. (sic)”<\/p>\n
