American climber <\/span>Balin Miller<\/b> has died at the age of 23 while climbing at Yosemite National Park.<\/span><\/p>\n Miller was attempting to summit El Capitan, the park\u2019s iconic granite wall that rises 3,000 feet from the valley floor, when the accident occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n His mother, <\/span>Jeanine Moorman<\/b>, shared the news in a tribute on the <\/span>VIRR website<\/span><\/a>, the family\u2019s outdoor goods business.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis is unthinkable,\u201d she wrote. \u201cAt this time, we do not yet know all the details. What we do know is that the world has lost an extraordinary soul, and our hearts are shattered.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Miller<\/span><\/a> was well known in the climbing community and often live-streamed his ascents on TikTok. He was affectionately nicknamed \u201corange tent guy\u201d for his brightly colored camping gear.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>He\u2019s been climbing<\/span><\/a> since he was a young boy,\u201d Moorman added. \u201cHis heart and soul was truly to just climb. He loved it\u2014it was never about money or fame.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n She described her son as having \u201ca touch of Robin Williams\u2019 wild energy\u2014strategic, curious, and endlessly playful. He brought light wherever he went.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Miller\u2019s brother, <\/span>Dylan Miller<\/b>, shared more details about the accident. Miller said that Balin had been lead rope soloing a 2,400-foot route called <\/span>Sea of Dreams<\/span><\/i>. He had just finished the climb and was hauling up his last bit of gear when \u201che likely rappelled off the end of his rope,\u201d Dylan said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe said he felt <\/span>most alive<\/span><\/a> when he was climbing,\u201d Dylan added. \u201cI\u2019m his older brother, but he was my mentor.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Moorman remembered her son as someone who lived <\/span>life to the fullest<\/span><\/a>. \u201cBalin was full of life\u2014a true wild card at heart.
