Cassie<\/strong><\/a> reacted to ex-boyfriend Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs<\/strong><\/a> four-year prison sentence<\/a> in a statement shared via her lawyer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile nothing can undo the trauma caused by Combs, the sentence imposed today recognizes the impact of the serious offenses he committed,\u201d attorney Douglas Wigdor<\/strong> told Us Weekly<\/em> on Friday, October 3. \u201cWe are confident that with the support of her family and friends, Ms. Ventura will continue healing knowing that her bravery and fortitude have been an inspiration to so many.\u201d<\/p>\n

Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison on Friday following his July conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted on the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. (Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied all the allegations against him.)<\/p>\n

Cassie, who dated Diddy off and on from 2007 to 2018<\/a>, was one of the key witnesses in Diddy\u2019s federal trial, which began in May. Over the course of four days, Cassie, who was then pregnant<\/a> with her and husband Alex Fine<\/strong>\u2019s<\/a> third baby, testified about physical and sexual abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of Diddy during their relationship.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCassie emotionally recounted allegedly being raped by ex-boyfriend Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs during the mogul\u2019s sex trafficking trial. During the singer\u2019s testimony on Wednesday, May 14, Cassie, 38, recalled a dinner she had with Diddy, 55, in 2018 after she had already begun dating her now-husband, Alex Fine. After Diddy brought Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Much of her testimony focused on Diddy\u2019s alleged \u201cfreak offs,\u201d which Cassie (full name Casandra Ventura) claimed involved the hiring of escorts for sex. \u201cThe freak offs became a job where there was no space to do anything else but to recover and just try to feel normal again,\u201d she told the court, alleging that these parties could last anywhere from 36 hours to four days and involved having sex with \u201cstrangers\u201d while using drugs and alcohol. With breaks, she claimed, freak offs could last even longer, and she\u2019d then need additional time to recover from dehydration, sleep deprivation and drug use.<\/p>\n

Cassie previously filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, accusing him of physical and sexual abuse during their relationship. He denied her allegations in a statement via his lawyer, and they settled out of court one day later. During the trial, Cassie revealed that Diddy paid her $20 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Six months later, CNN published leaked surveillance footage that showed Diddy assaulting Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel. That footage was presented as evidence during the trial, and Cassie testified that she was attempting to leave<\/a> a freak off when it was filmed. (Diddy apologized for his behavior in a social media video shared in May 2024.)<\/p>\n

Ahead of Diddy\u2019s sentencing on Friday, Cassie submitted a letter<\/a> to Judge Arun Subramanian<\/strong> asking him to consider the experiences of victims when deciding on her ex\u2019s prison term.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf there is one thing I have learned from this experience, it is that victims and survivors will never be safe,\u201d she wrote in the Tuesday, September 30, letter. \u201cAlthough I can hope for justice and accountability, I have come to not trust anything. I hope that your decision considers the truths at hand that the jury failed to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to say that she fears retaliation from Diddy or his associates following his release.<\/p>\n
