Love Is Blind <\/i><\/a>season 9 star Anna Yuan<\/strong> has responded to an onslaught of fan commentary about her body.<\/p>\n \u201cHi friends, reminder that I am human,\u201d Anna, 28, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, October 2. \u201cA human who has devoted her life into a craft to make other women feel beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n The hairstylist uploaded a handful of screenshots of social media users calling her \u201cchubby\u201d and falsely claiming that she wouldn\u2019t find The One on the show simply because she\u2019s not a \u201chot girl.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI have struggled with my weight since I was a little girl,\u201d Anna said on Thursday. \u201cFor the first time in my life, I am proud of how healthy I am<\/a>. I\u2019m not a character.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cI\u2019m a real human being just like you. Be kind. Love you all anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n In a follow-up post on her Instagram Stories, Anna implored social media users to stop \u201cflooding\u201d her DMs.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very insane seeing people come out of the woodworks to talk about me,\u201d she wrote. \u201cIf you think you know me, you actually don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n Anna is one of the contestants<\/a> on season 9 of Love Is Blind<\/i>, which is set in Denver, Colorado. Despite sparking early pod bonds with Patrick Suzuki<\/strong> and Blake Anderson<\/strong>, Anna withdrew from the experiment. Her exit sent shockwaves through the pods, especially for 30-year-old Patrick who was waiting to go on a date with her.<\/p>\n \u201cI started seeing myself being pretty vulnerable, and it scared me a little bit because this is an intimate part of my brain. These are very sensitive topics for me,\u201d Anna told Tudum<\/a> of her decision to leave the show. \u201cIt\u2019s not that I\u2019m just sharing it with whoever I\u2019m dating or the other women \u2014 this is going to be broadcast for people.\u201d<\/p>\n Anna, as the daughter of Chinese immigrants, was also worried about her parents\u2019 reactions to the show premise.<\/p>\n \u201cWith my parents being immigrants and having a language barrier, I\u2019ve always naturally been their helper,\u201d she explained to the outlet. \u201cWhen I told them, \u2018Hey, Mom and Dad, I\u2019m going on this show, they\u2019re going to take my phone, they were like, \u2018Are you being kidnapped?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Out of concern for her parents, Anna made her final decision to return home.<\/p>\n \u201cI was a wreck,\u201d she said. \u201cMy eyes were almost swollen shut from crying. I was embarrassed.\u201d<\/p>\n While Anna claimed that she was given the choice to tell Patrick about her plans during their planned date, she opted against it because she didn\u2019t want to be filmed anymore.<\/p>\n
