Celebrities are mourning the loss of iconic singer Tina Turner<\/a> after her death at age 83.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,\u201d read a statement on the Queen of Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll\u2019s Instagram<\/a> account on Wednesday, May 24, alongside a black-and-white photo of the music icon<\/a>. \u201cWith her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier that day, Turner\u2019s rep released a statement announcing her death<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cTina Turner, the \u2018Queen of Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll\u2019 has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.\u201d Her spokesperson, Bernard Doherty<\/strong>, added: \u201cWith her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.\u201d<\/p>\n Stars and fans of the Tennessee native flocked to the tribute post to pay their respects.<\/p>\n \u201cRejoice In Paradise Queen. Rest In Power,\u201d Rosario Dawson<\/strong><\/a> replied. \u201cRest in power Legendary Queen \ud83d\udc51,\u201d Debbie Gibson<\/strong><\/a> commented.<\/p>\n While Turner had a flourishing career since her debut at 18, the \u201cWhat\u2019s Love Got to Do With It\u201d songstress faced a series of health issues<\/a> in recent years. In 2013, the Grammy<\/a> winner suffered from a stroke three weeks after she tied the knot<\/a> with Erwin Bach<\/strong><\/a>. While recovering from the stroke, Turner had to learn how to walk again. Three years later, she was diagnosed with both intestinal cancer<\/a> and kidney failure.<\/p>\n \u201cI had no pain but my body was reacting from cancer in the colon, from kidney failure. It sounds like it continues and goes on and it does \u2026 Then they came up with, there was cancer in the colon, both kidneys were already gone and the kidney takes care of cleansing the body,\u201d she wrote in her 2018 memoir, Tina Turner: My Love Story<\/em>. \u201cAll of that had started to toxify. So it was on its way. I said I\u2019m ready to go if it\u2019s time. My mother and sister have gone. Erwin said, \u2018No, I don\u2019t want another partner,\u2019 so it went on and on.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cA Fool in Love\u201d artist was the mother of two sons: Craig, whom she shared with saxophonist Raymond Hill and Ronnie and whom she welcomed with ex-husband and musical partner Ike Turner. Tina also adopted two of Ike\u2019s sons from prior relationships. Craig died in July 2018 at age 59 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound<\/a>. Before her death, Tina lost Ronnie in December 2022 due to colon cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n
