Zayn Malik<\/strong><\/a> and Louis Tomlinson<\/strong><\/a> are officially hitting the road together again \u2014 but this time, it\u2019s not for a One Direction<\/a> tour.<\/p>\n The former bandmates are reuniting for a brand-new Netflix documentary series that will follow their U.S. travels, marking the first major on-screen project the two have shared since their boy band days.<\/p>\n The streaming giant confirmed that the road trip series will be directed by Nicola Marsh<\/strong>, who has previously helmed high-profile documentaries including Demi Lovato: Child Star, Song Exploder<\/em>, and Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story.<\/em> Produced by Campfire Studios, the project is expected to launch in 2026 and is already drawing major buzz from One Direction fans around the globe.<\/p>\n According to The Hollywood Reporter,<\/em><\/a> Zayn and Louis\u2019 journey across America will include personal conversations about their own lives and careers, as well as emotional reflections on the tragic death of fellow One Direction member Liam Payne<\/strong><\/a>. Payne passed away in October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at just 31 years old. Toxicology reports later revealed a combination of drugs in his system. His loss deeply shook the group, and all four surviving members reunited in the U.K. for his funeral.<\/p>\n While Harry Styles<\/strong><\/a> and Niall Horan<\/strong><\/a> are not expected to appear in the series, the docuseries aims to spotlight Zayn and Louis\u2019 reconnection and the impact of Payne\u2019s passing. During a heartfelt social media tribute after Liam\u2019s death, Zayn referred to him as his \u201cbrother,\u201d while Louis remembered him as \u201cthe most vital part\u201d of One Direction.<\/p>\n The project also comes after years of ups and downs between Zayn and Louis. Back in 2015, shortly after Zayn\u2019s sudden departure from One Direction, the two exchanged heated words on social media. But time \u2014 and tragedy \u2014 appears to have mended their rift.
