Alan Bersten<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and Elaine Hendrix<\/span><\/a><\/strong> are responding to the Dancing With the Stars<\/i><\/span><\/a> judges\u2019 latest critiques.<\/p>\n

After Carrie Ann Inaba<\/strong> accused the actress of being \u201ctoo independent,\u201d Hendrix, 54, said she understands the constructive criticism.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s not wrong. I learned the tango in five days,\u201d Hendrix exclusively shared with Us Weekly<\/i> on Tuesday, September 30, after TikTok night<\/span><\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s an incredibly intricate dance, and that\u2019s not an excuse. It\u2019s just that there\u2019s so much to think about, and I feel like at any given moment, I\u2019m with him, and then I got to think about my heel, and then I got to think about my shoulder. It\u2019s juggling a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

During week 3, Hendrix and Bersten, 31, danced the tango to \u201cGnarly\u201d by Katseye. They later received a score of 21 out of 30 by Inaba, 57, Derek Hough<\/strong> and Bruno Toniolo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile some Dancing With the Stars contestants are understandably eliminated for their two left feet, other entrants are sent home far too early. The voting system got an overhaul for season 28, following the controversial victory of radio host Bobby Bones one season prior, but the changeup didn\u2019t stop formidable competitors from leaving the ballroom. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYou are incredible. You are powerful. You are strong, but you\u2019re being too independent,\u201d Inaba said on Tuesday\u2019s episode. \u201cThis is my small note. I know you\u2019re working to dance together but I actually still feel a little bit of fighting. Just trust your partner a hair more so all the strength is working together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like every season, Bersten tries his best to take in the judges\u2019 feedback. At the same time, he made it clear that working with Hendrix has been a blast.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, we\u2019re gonna take the notes of the judges and make sure to work on that connection, because we do have such a great connection,\u201d he told Us<\/i>. \u201cI think the tango is just such a powerful dance that we were like, let\u2019s just nail the power for our next dance. We\u2019re just gonna enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tuesday\u2019s episode also saw the shocking elimination<\/span><\/a> of Brandon Armstrong<\/strong> and Lauren Jauregui<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Week after week, Bersten said he gets nervous to see what names cohosts Julianne Hough<\/strong> and Alfonso Ribeiro<\/strong> will call out on live TV.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen they don\u2019t call your name right away, it is \u2014 I know they say no particular order \u2014 scary,\u201d he told Us<\/i>. \u201cWe\u2019re so grateful to be safe. Honestly, we\u2019re having such a great time, and Elaine\u2019s doing such incredible dances week after week. It\u2019s sad to see anyone go. I\u2019m shocked Brandon and Lauren went home. Everyone deserves to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Disney night approaching on Tuesday, October 7, Hendrix said she is savoring every moment of this unique experience.<\/p>\n

The actress is also grateful to have the support of so many fans and friends, including The Parent Trap<\/i> costar Lisa Ann Walter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
