There are some things in <\/span>Miley Cyrus\u2019s<\/b> closet she still can\u2019t let go of.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a September 24 interview with <\/span>Vogue<\/span><\/a>, the \u201cParty in the U.S.A\u201d singer revealed that she\u2019s held onto mementos from her relationship with ex-husband, <\/span>Liam Hemsworth<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI needed my mom here with me,\u201d the 32-year-old shared. \u201cI literally have the dress I was wearing when I met my ex-husband, and I also have the dress from our first date.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n She added, \u201cAlong with letters and things that I really want to savor\u2014these beautiful moments of my life. But because those intimate moments were also public, it\u2019s hard to decide which pieces I\u2019d ever want to share or allow to be seen.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Cyrus<\/span><\/a> explained that she discovered these sentimental items while \u201cdeep in the inventory and organization\u201d of her life\u2019s archives, as she worked on \u201ccreating a legacy rack\u2014a couple of looks from every era that I\u2019d want to be remembered for,\u201d she told Vogue.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>I feel joy<\/span><\/a> when I\u2019m organizing and cleaning\u2014it never feels like a task to me,\u201d she said. \u201cEverything I do in my life is a little intense, but it has to be holistic. That\u2019s why my eras aren\u2019t costumes\u2014they\u2019re like a metamorphosis, a true evolution for me personally.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Cyrus and Hemsworth\u2019s love story began in 2009 on the set of <\/span>The Last Song <\/span><\/i>when Cyrus was just 16. After filming ended, the pair confirmed their budding romance with a passionate <\/span>airport farewel<\/span><\/a>l.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What followed was a years-long on-again, off-again relationship, until Hemsworth sealed the deal in 2012, giving the singer an engagement ring.<\/span><\/p>\n After pressing pause on their wedding plans in April 2013, the couple officially ended their engagement that September. But their story didn\u2019t end there\u2014three years later, Cyrus and Hemsworth found their way back to each other.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Finally in December of 2018, the pair said \u2018I do,\u2019 with Cyrus later sharing a photo of their wedding-day kiss on Instagram to confirm the happy news.<\/span><\/p>\n Unfortunately, happily ever after wasn\u2019t in the cards for the couple.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hemsworth filed for divorce in August 2019, citing \u201cirreconcilable differences.\u201d The actor shared on <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a> a note about the breakup writing, \u201cHi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.
