Earlier that month, the Grammy winner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/diddy-sex-trafficking-trial-verdict-reached\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was found guilty on two counts<\/a> of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted on charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. On Wednesday, July 2, Subramanian announced that the disgraced music mogul should remain in custody while awaiting sentencing, NBC News reported. Before the ruling was made, both the prosecutors and defense attorneys each stated their case for why Diddy should [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The July 2 verdict came after a highly publicized trial that lasted nearly two months. Diddy\u2019s ex-girlfriend <strong>Cassie<\/strong>, whom he dated off and on from 2007 to 2018, served as a witness for the prosecution, testifying about alleged physical and sexual abuse during their relationship. (Diddy denied all of her allegations.)<\/p>\n<p>In November 2023, Cassie, 39, filed a lawsuit against Diddy accusing him of abuse. He denied her claims at the time, and the duo settled out of court one day later. Many of those claims were discussed during Diddy\u2019s federal trial, and in May, Cassie testified that she settled the original case for $20 million.<\/p>\n<p>Diddy has asked for bail multiple times since his arrest last year, but Subramanian has denied every request. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/diddy-lawyers-are-still-pushing-for-his-release-before-sentencing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The latest denial<\/a> came in August after Diddy\u2019s attorneys <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/diddy-seeks-acquittal-or-new-trial-over-prostitution-related-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">argued that \u201cexceptional circumstances\u201d<\/a> warranted his release.
