Moviemaking isn\u2019t always magical. Florence Pugh<\/strong><\/a> opened up about how the vibe on set could affect the entire movie.<\/p>\n The Little Women<\/em> star, 27, has \u201cdefinitely\u201d felt like a movie was falling apart while filming, she told Time<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Tuesday, May 23.<\/p>\n \u201cA whole film set, it\u2019s everybody making a huge effort because they want to be there,\u201d Pugh explained. \u201cAnd if someone doesn\u2019t want to be there or if someone isn\u2019t pulling their weight, you can feel it. The film feels wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n Pugh declined to name any particular films, but fans are quick to remember the Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/em> drama from last year. The movie, which hit theaters in September 2022, was directed by Olivia Wilde<\/strong><\/a>. In the months leading up to the film\u2019s release, the Black Widow<\/em> actress barely acknowledged the film\u2019s existence on social media, and insiders alleged that she and the director, 39, struggled to see eye-to-eye<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cFlorence and Olivia have had several disagreements personally and professionally, that\u2019s why Florence isn\u2019t doing any press for the movie,\u201d a source exclusively revealed to Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in August 2022. The England native made a single appearance at Venice Film Festival for the movie\u2019s premiere and did not participate in the press conference with her castmates and director. She arrived in time to walk the red carpet and watch the film and left to return to the Dune 2<\/em><\/a> set in Budapest the next morning.<\/p>\n During the Venice press conference, Wilde, 39, refused to address speculation about the rumored feuds with Pugh as well as Shia LaBeouf<\/strong><\/a>, who was once set to play<\/a> the role Harry Styles<\/strong><\/a> took over.<\/p>\n \u201cFlorence is a force,\u201d Wilde said of her leading lady. \u201cWe are so grateful she\u2019s able to make it tonight [for the red carpet] despite being in production on Dune. I know as a director how disruptive it is to lose an actor even for a day, so I\u2019m very grateful to her and to [Dune<\/em> director Denis Villeneuve<\/strong>] for helping us. And we\u2019ll get to celebrate her work tonight. I can\u2019t say how honored I am to have her as our lead. She\u2019s amazing. As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, the internet feeds itself. I don\u2019t feel the need to contribute; I think it\u2019s sufficiently well-nourished.\u201d<\/p>\n When a reporter asked about rumored drama with LaBeouf, 36, Wilde said only that the question had already been answered because \u201cit\u2019s on the internet.\u201d<\/p>\n The House<\/em> alum later reacted to Pugh\u2019s alleged social media snub of the film, noting that she\u2019d fulfilled all her obligations as the leading lady of Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cFlorence is one of the most in-demand actresses in the universe. She\u2019s on set on Dune<\/em>,\u201d the Booksmart<\/em> director told Vanity Fair<\/em> <\/a>in a September 2022 interview. \u201cI gather that some people expect for her to be engaging more on social media. I didn\u2019t hire her to post. I hired her to act. She fulfilled every single expectation I had of her. That\u2019s all that matters to me.\u201d<\/p>\n Several months after the film\u2019s release, Pugh declined to discuss the \u201cmedia frenzy\u201d surrounding the film during a February 2023 interview with Vanity Fair<\/em>. \u201cIdeally I don\u2019t really want to be going down the Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/em> conversation because this whole release for The Wonder<\/em> has been so positive and I\u2019ve been really excited to talk about that,\u201d she told the magazine. \u201cI don\u2019t really feel the need to go into the nitty-gritty details of Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/em>.
