Violet has experienced several romantic heartbreaks on Chicago Fire<\/em><\/a>, and while season 14 will start with a breakup it won\u2019t be all doom and gloom for the paramedic.<\/p>\n

\u201cViolet has had some tortured relationships in the past and is coming off some serious heartbreak,\u201d showrunner Andrea Newman exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Thursday, September 25, referring to Violet (Hanako Greensmith<\/strong><\/a>) and Carver\u2019s (Jake Lockett<\/strong><\/a>) short-lived romance.<\/p>\n

Newman noted that Violet is \u201cnot looking to get into any heavy, serious relationships\u201d to start the new season, which premieres on Wednesday, October 1.<\/p>\n

Violet is coming off a whirlwind season 13 finale<\/a> in which she finally told firefighter Carver how she felt about him before he revealed he took a job in Denver<\/a>. Despite having no future together, Carver ended the May episode by kissing Violet and admitting that he had also fallen in love.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tChicago Fire\u2019s Violet has been through the wringer in the romance department \u2014 and her relationship with Carver doesn\u2019t appear to be any different. \u201cViolet has taken on so much heartbreak and disappointment and frustration,\u201d Hanako Greensmith, who plays paramedic Violet, told Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday, August 27, hinting that her and firefighter Carver\u2019s (Jake [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite the sweet kiss, fans won\u2019t be getting a happily ever after for Violet and Carver \u2014 at least, not for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n

Lockett, 40, previously confirmed in April<\/a> that he would not be returning for season 14, but teased that he didn\u2019t know \u201cwhat the future looks like,\u201d giving fans hope at an eventual comeback.<\/p>\n

Newman, meanwhile, told Us<\/em> on Thursday that Violet will have some \u201cfun times\u201d this season as a single lady.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s time to go out and just have a blast and not get caught up in anything that could lead to heartbreak,\u201d the showrunner said. \u201cFun is on the lineup. [It\u2019s] on the docket for Violet, for sure, and fun is always on the docket for [her paramedic partner] Novak. That\u2019s her middle name.\u201d<\/p>\n

Newman teased that Lyla Novak\u2019s (Jocelyn Hudon<\/strong>) rowdy ways might rub off on Violet now that they are both free from relationships.<\/p>\n

Christian Stolte<\/strong>, who plays Randall \u201cMouch\u201d McHolland, said that he \u201creally\u201d likes Violet and Novak\u2019s \u201cdynamic\u201d this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey also both have a sort of rapid-fire energy with dialogue that maybe sometimes like, \u2018OK, slow it down,\u2019\u201d he said with a laugh during his and Newman\u2019s joint interview.<\/p>\n

Newman couldn\u2019t agree more, hinting that the paramedic duo will continue to steal the spotlight<\/a> this season from time to time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re so different. Violet is very much the sort of rational based science person. She\u2019s not a big, like, \u2018Let\u2019s hug it out,\u2019\u201d Newman told Us<\/em>. \u201cAnd Novak is so empathetic with patients, and so she connects so well. They have a very nice balance. They\u2019re a great team together.\u201d<\/p>\n
