Raye is hoping to start a family in the next few years<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old singer has released her latest single Where Is My Husband! And explained that she is hoping to have met a partner and started a family together in five years from now.<\/p>\n
Speaking to BBC News, Raye said: “I have a five-year plan. I’ll put out an album in the first half of next year \u2013 although I need to finish it first \u2013 then I’ll tour with my sisters.<\/p>\n
“Ideally, around that time, it would be nice to meet my husband. So like, maybe 2027? Then we get married and have a baby.<\/p>\n
“And I want to do enough groundwork in the next two years that I can take a year off and my career’s not gone down the toilet.”<\/p>\n
\nRaye even revealed that Where Is My Husband! has already resulted in a romantic proposal.<\/p>\n
\nShe recalled: “Someone wrote their number on a tissue the other day and I was like, ‘Oh no, you’re just not my type.’<\/p>\n
\n“He was really sweet, he just wasn’t my vibe.”<\/p>\n
\nThe Escapism singer \u2013 whose real name is Rachel Keen \u2013 explained that she is trying to look after her younger sisters Lauren and Abby-Lynn as they follow her into the world of music, particularly after her split from Polydor Records in 2021 amid claims that the company refused to release her debut album.<\/p>\n
\nRaye said: “I’m fiercely, fiercely, fiercely protective of my girls.<\/p>\n
\n“We have discussions about how to handle disrespect in a studio environment and learning how to navigate egos.<\/p>\n
\n“It’s really, really hard, and sometimes people are very disrespectful, so we talk about it and go through it together.”<\/p>\n
\nRaye has been compared to the late singer Amy Winehouse but insists that she could “never, ever attempt to replace or imitate” the Rehab artist after working with her producer Mark Ronson on the song Suzanne.<\/p>\n
\nThe star – who won a record six BRIT Awards in a single night at the 2024 ceremony – told People: “Honestly, I’m not gonna lie, I actually was quite nervous and scared to work with him.<\/p>\n
\n“I just do want to say that I know I can never, ever, ever, ever, ever attempt to replace or imitate Amy. I\u2019m in awe of her. We all are, and we miss her.”<\/p>\n
