Nicole Kidman<\/strong><\/a> and Keith Urban<\/strong><\/a> celebrated their love with a romantic wedding in Australia nearly two decades before their separation.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed on Monday, September 29, that Kidman, 58, and Urban, 57, split after 19 years of marriage.<\/a> They originally met in 2005 following her divorce from Tom Cruise<\/strong>. After one year of dating, Kidman and Urban got married at Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel church in Sydney, Australia, with their family and friends present.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember being in Sydney and driving down the street and I was with my dad \u2014 who\u2019s obviously not around now \u2014 and he was in the car with me,\u201d Kidman recalled to People in 2004. \u201cWe were driving to the church and there were so many people on the street, sort of celebrating us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kidman recalled opening the window of the vintage white Rolls-Royce and thanking locals as she and her father, Antony, made their way to the church for the candlelit ceremony.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t2025 kicked off with a slew of celebrity breakups. Two months after first sparking split rumors, Jessica Simpson announced that she and Eric Johnson had called it quits after 10 years of marriage. \u201cEric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,\u201d she told Us Weekly in a January 13 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was just one of the most emotional things in my life,\u201d she noted at the time. \u201cIt really was an extraordinary day.\u201d<\/p>\n

After trying the know, the then-couple expanded their family in 2008 with the arrival of daughter Sunday Rose. Two years later, Kidman and Urban welcomed daughter Faith via surrogate. (Kidman is also the mother of daughter Isabella and son Connor, whom she adopted with Cruise.)<\/p>\n

Kidman later gushed about the partnership she developed with Urban.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI have the most extraordinary partner in life. I will always say that about him,\u201d she said in a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight.<\/em> \u201cI\u2019m one of the very fortunate women in the world to have had a wonderful father, and I have a wonderful husband, and I\u2019m just very \u2014 I love to be able to say that because to talk about the good men that have influenced me and affected me.\u201d<\/p>\n

During a CBS Mornings<\/em> interview in 2022, Kidman called meeting Urban \u201clater in life\u201d the \u201cbest thing that\u2019s ever happened\u201d to her, adding, \u201cWe\u2019re a mix. We\u2019re very suited [for each other]. I\u2019m incredibly lucky to have met him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kidman was also honest about the work<\/a> that went into her marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re always working through stuff, but it\u2019s very much love-based, so there\u2019s an enormous amount of give and take,\u201d she explained in the September 2021 issue of Harper\u2019s Bazaar. \u201cI want him to have the best life he can have, and he responds the same way. We really love parenting together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kidman and Urban first crossed paths at the G\u2019Day USA Gala \u2014 an event honoring Australians in Los Angeles \u2014 in 2005. Kidman was immediately smitten with [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI was young. I think I offered it up?\u201d she recalled about sharing her personal life with the public. \u201cMaybe I\u2019ve gotten a bit more trepidatious, but I\u2019m always trying to be as open as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI just prefer to live in the world that way. I\u2019m wary at times, and I\u2019ve been hurt, but at the same time I much prefer a warm approach rather than a prickly shutdown approach. My husband, Keith, says that when he met me, he said, \u2018How\u2019s your heart?\u2019 And I apparently responded, \u2018Open.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
