Glen Powell<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about his audition process for Glee<\/strong><\/a><\/em>!<\/p>\n The 36-year-old actor revealed in a recent interview several roles and projects that he auditioned for, with one of them being the hit Fox musical series from Ryan Murphy<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n During an appearance on his friend Jake Shane<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Therapuss<\/a><\/em> podcast last week, Glen<\/strong> revealed he was up for the role of Sam Evans, and got pretty far in the audition process. However, he was competing against his friend Chord Overstreet<\/strong><\/a>, who he was about to move in with!<\/p>\n \u201cOne of my best buddies in the world is a guy, Chord Overstreet<\/strong> and Chord<\/strong> was on the show Glee<\/em>,\u201d Glen<\/strong> shared. \u201cSo like, we both auditioned for Glee<\/em>. We both auditioned for the same role\u2026 Sam Evans\u2026 but it wasn\u2019t \u2018Trouty Mouth\u2019 at the time. So, it turned into \u2018Trouty Mouth\u2019 with Chord<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut we were both in the waiting room at the same time because we were buddies. We met in acting class. We were like pals for a really long time, you know, like, we were close,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd then we were down to the wire on Sam Evans, and he got it. But like, he\u2019s still one of my best friends. And we were about to be roommates, so we moved in together as he went on this like crazy Glee<\/em> ride, which was like, kind of wild to be, one of your best friends in the world, to be like, to watch him kind of go through that thing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt was pretty crazy to be around, because it was also like the biggest show in the world. I don\u2019t think a lot of people remember that.\u201d<\/p>\n Glen<\/strong> also revealed that the audition song was \u201cBillionaire\u201d by Travie McCoy<\/strong><\/a>, which Chord <\/strong>did end up covering on the show!<\/p>\n If you missed it, find out other stars who auditioned for Glee<\/em><\/a> but didn\u2019t get the role\u2026<\/p>\n Also on the podcast, Glen<\/strong> revealed other roles he auditioned for, including JD McCoy and Tim Riggins in Friday Night Lights<\/em>, which went to Jeremy Sumpter<\/strong><\/a> and Taylor Kitsch<\/strong><\/a>, respectively; Luke Collins in The Longest Ride<\/em>, which went to Scott Eastwood<\/strong><\/a>; and even Peter in Divergent<\/em>, which his Top Gun: Maverick<\/em> co-star Miles Teller<\/strong><\/a> ended up getting. <\/p>\n After Glee<\/em>, Glen<\/strong> went on to star in another Ryan Murphy<\/strong> show \u2013 Scream Queens<\/em>!<\/p>\n Glen<\/strong> and Ryan<\/strong> are also teaming up for a new Broadway musical<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
