Pete Davidson<\/b> has been sober for over a year and a half and has a special family member to thank for that.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The 31-year-old admitted on the \u201c<\/span>This Past Weekend w\/ Theo Von<\/span><\/a>\u201d podcast that before he got sober, some of the people he was closest to began to drift away from him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt got to the point where people I f****** loved (started to leave me),\u201d Davidson said, opening up about those dark days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The comedian also shared the pivotal role his mother, <\/span>Amy Davidson<\/b> played in his journey. \u201cMy mom\u2019s the most supportive person in the world,\u201d he said. \u201cIt got to a point where she called me when I was in rehab and said, \u2018My biggest fear is that I will turn on the news and see that my son has died,\u2019\u201d he continued.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>That killed me<\/span><\/a>. So I was like, \u2018Alright, can\u2019t die until she\u2019s dead,\u2019 Davidson added. \u201cI\u2019d have to be a heartless, f****** sociopath to not get my s*** together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n As reported by <\/span>TODAY<\/span><\/i><\/a>, Davidson entered rehab in 2023 following an incident in March, when he crashed his car into a home and subsequently faced a misdemeanor reckless driving charge.<\/span><\/p>\n With that all in the past, Davidson is now <\/span>expecting his first child<\/span><\/a> with girlfriend, model <\/span>Elsie Hewitt<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n The comedian is \u201cthrilled\u201d about becoming a father and is thankful to be sober for over a year. \u201cBut there was no f****** way that (becoming a parent) was possible (before I got sober),\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>I\u2019m really grateful<\/span><\/a> it happened now \u2014 and I wasn\u2019t looking for a relationship or\u2026 obviously I wanted to, but I wasn\u2019t looking to have a baby. And it all just kind of happened at once and it\u2019s been awesome,\u201d he concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n On Wednesday, July 16, Hewitt confirmed the news of her pregnancy through a series of photos on <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The 29-year-old also included a clip of the adorable moment the couple saw their little one. \u201cWelp now everyone knows we had sex,\u201d she joked in the caption.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
