The actor, 36, starred in the 2022 sequel to the original Top Gun film, and has now said he and his co-stars\u2019 bonds have endured well beyond filming as they continue to share updates and celebrate one another\u2019s achievements by text.<\/p>\n

He told People: \u201cSometimes I\u2019ll get a little information every once in a while from the gang. The Top Gun chain is alive with congratulations to each other, about sort of movie openings or nominations, or whatever it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glen added: \u201cMiles\u2019 movie doing really well, Monica getting nominated for an Oscar. Everybody is getting to do all these really wonderful, cool things, so it\u2019s a lot of congratulations.\u201d <\/p>\n

The star was referring to fellow cast members Miles Teller<\/a> and Monica Barbaro, and also mentioned Lewis Pullman and Danny Ramirez.<\/p>\n

\nTop Gun: Maverick follows Tom Cruise as Pete \u201cMaverick\u201d Mitchell, returning to the \u2018Top Gun\u2019 Naval aviation program 30 years after his graduation. <\/p>\n

\nHis new students include Miles as Lt Bradley \u2018Rooster\u2019 Bradshaw, the son of his late best friend Goose, originally played by Anthony Edwards in the 1986 film.<\/p>\n

\nDirected by Joseph Kosinski, the sequel was a critical and commercial hit. <\/p>\n

\nIt earned nominations at the Academy Awards, the Critics\u2019 Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, and was named one of the top films of 2022 by the American Film Institute.<\/p>\n

\nIn January 2024, Variety confirmed a new sequel was in development. <\/p>\n

\nChristopher McQuarrie, the writer-producer on Top Gun: Maverick, told the Happy Sad Confused podcast in May a third film in the franchise was in the works.<\/p>\n

\nDespite the excitement, Glen said his group chat has not provided any insider knowledge on the upcoming project. <\/p>\n

\nHe told People: \u201cI wish. I wish I had something. I literally have nothing. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cThere\u2019s been no new dialogue on that text chain. There was a lot of speculation about a movie there for a while, but no new intel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nGlen is currently promoting his new Hulu comedy series Chad Powers, launched in partnership with Raising Cane\u2019s. <\/p>\n

\nThe show will begin streaming on 30 September.<\/p>\n
