Our family was in a tragic car accident and we lost Papa, Neenee and Aunt Megan,\u201d a Saturday, September 27, statement shared via the family\u2019s @GrowingUpPutmans Instagram account read, referring to grandparents Bill and Barb and their daughter-in-law. \u201cThey have gone home to be with the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Family members <strong>Blake<\/strong>, <strong>Lulu<\/strong>, <strong>Alena<\/strong>, <strong>Noah<\/strong> and <strong>Gia<\/strong> remained hospitalized at the time of publication, per the same statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy entire family \u2026 all proclaimed that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior,\u201d the Saturday statement continued. \u201cHe is our hope, our peace and our salvation. Even in this time of heartbreak, we rest in knowing that God is in control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, September 23 \u2014 just days before the car accident \u2014Barb wished her husband a beloved happy birthday via the family\u2019s official <em>Growing Up Putman<\/em> Instagram account.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHappy birthday to my incredible husband! Bill, welcome to our Medicare years! You are truly a blessing to me and our family. You inspire us each day through your strengths, wisdom and determination,\u201d the sweet birthday message began. \u201cYou love us unconditionally and have always been consistent with that even through our faults.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barb continued to heap praise on her husband: \u201cYou never waiver from your love for Christ and you point us to Him each and every day. As a husband, you love me like Christ loves the church and I never take that for granted. As a dad and papa you are such a gift to our family. You are our safe place, our inspiration and our encourager. You guide with patience, protect with strength and nurture from the heart always pointing us to Christ and wanting the best for each one of us.
