The late singer, who died aged 48 in February 2012, was cited as a guiding influence by US-based creator who goes by the name Sword for Hire, winner of a new global competition dubbed the \u201cGrammys for AI music\u201d. <\/p>\n

Sword for Hire, who works in digital marketing, said their winning track Sweetest Illusion began with a moment of inspiration during yoga. <\/p>\n

The song, a sultry R and B number, was designed to echo the spirit of Whitney\u2019s work, with the creator saying: \u201cThe story came to me in an instant \u2013 that electric tension of connection, and the mature choice to keep it unspoken. <\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted a song Whitney Houston<\/a> would be proud to sing. It had to be sensual but never cheap, powerful but not overwrought. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cAI gave me the ability to capture that balance \u2013 but the emotion, the humanity, that came from me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nWhitney, born August 1963, rose to global fame in the 1980s with hits such as I Wanna Dance With Somebody and her record-breaking cover of I Will Always Love You. <\/p>\n

\nKnown for her soaring vocals and emotional delivery, she won six Grammy awards during her career but also faced public struggles with addiction. <\/p>\n

\nShe was found dead in a hotel bathtub in Beverly Hills, with accidental drowning later determined as the cause, alongside heart disease and cocaine use.<\/p>\n

\nJudges awarded Sword for Hire the $7,000 top prize in the Future Sound Awards. <\/p>\n

\nGermany\u2019s Aidan Yagu took second place for Give Anarchy a Try, while Essex-based Gallis was placed third with Chiropractor.<\/p>\n

\nThe Future Sound Awards were launched by the Fanvue World AI Creator Awards in partnership with SoundCloud and TwoShot, attracting more than 500 entries from over 20 countries. <\/p>\n

\nThe judging panel included producer Jeff Nang, German AI artist Butterbro, TwoShot founder Tobi Akinyemi and Fanvue\u2019s head of AI Narcis Marincat.<\/p>\n

\nNarcis said: \u201cThe richness and emotion in these stories is what captivated us. Sword for Hire\u2019s track stood out because it channels a very modern kind of intimacy, but through the prism of R and B\u2019s golden age.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nButterbro added: \u201cSweetest Illusion has that sensual confidence of the late \u201990s, but it\u2019s the storytelling that lingers. The AI didn\u2019t replace the artist \u2013 it amplified their humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Launched by the Fanvue World AI Creator Awards (WAICAs) in partnership with SoundCloud and TwoShot, the Future Sound Awards were created \u201cto prove that AI can amplify human creativity, not replace it\u201d, according to its organisers.<\/p>\n

\nThe Future Sound Awards mark the first move into music for Fanvue, the subscription creator platform where over 180,000 creators use AI-powered tools to grow their income.<\/p>\n

\nIn 2024, more than 60 million people worldwide used AI to make music, with global acts such as David Guetta, Grimes, Timbaland, and Holly Herndon already experimenting with the technology.<\/p>\n
