The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em><\/a> isn\u2019t ending quite yet thanks to a surprise movie.<\/p>\n

Based on Jenny Han<\/strong>\u2018s book series, Prime Video\u2019s adaptation followed the love triangle<\/a> between Belly (Lola Tung<\/strong>) and the Fisher brothers: Conrad (Chris Brine<\/strong>y) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno<\/strong>). The Summer I Turned Pretty, It\u2019s Not Summer Without You<\/em> and We\u2019ll Always Have Summer<\/em> served as inspiration for the show\u2019s three seasons.<\/p>\n

While viewers were expecting the series to wrap up after season 3, Han had a surprise up her sleeve. Prime Video announced in September 2025 their plans for a movie to wrap up the story<\/a>, which came hours after the season 3 finale.<\/p>\n

Who Is Returning?<\/h2>\n

Tung and Briney\u2019s participation has been confirmed after the season 3 finale. Us Weekly<\/em> has also confirmed Casalegno\u2019s return as Jeremiah while Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, Isabella Briggs<\/strong> and Jackie Chung<\/strong> are expected to reprise their roles.<\/p>\n

Prime Video is releasing the full-feature film. Han was asked about the movie\u2019s release date in September 2025 during a joint cast appearance, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s still a little too soon to say. But Sarah Kucserka, my co-showrunner, and I have finished a draft, so we\u2019re chugging along.\u201d<\/p>\n

Han did confirm that 2026<\/a> would be too soon. \u201cWe don\u2019t know when it\u2019s coming out, but not next year,\u201d she added. \u201cWe still have to make it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pulling inspiration from Han\u2019s We\u2019ll Always Have Summer<\/em>, the show ended with Belly and Conrad returning to Cousins Beach as a couple. Some fans, however, weren\u2019t thrilled by the lack of epilogue, which showed Belly and Conrad getting married<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is our start. This is the moment it becomes real. We are married. We are infinite,\u201d read the final lines in Han\u2019s novel. \u201cMe and Conrad. The first boy I ever slow danced with, ever cried over. Ever loved.\u201d<\/p>\n
