Actress Joanna Page<\/strong> revealed a scary situation in which she was held hostage by a taxi driver and was ordered to strip naked so he could take photos of her.<\/p>\n Page, 48, recently explained that the experience took place 20 years ago when she was filming the BBC miniseries To the Ends of the Earth<\/em> in South Africa.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I first arrived to film, some of the cast were there before me because [I play] a character who comes into it later,\u201d Page, who played Marion Chumley on the show, said while appearing on the Wednesday, September 24, episode of Russell Howard<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cFive Brilliant Things\u201d<\/a> podcast. \u201cSo I got to the hotel and they said, \u2018You can\u2019t go anywhere without your chaperone.\u2019 And I thought \u2018Oh, this is ridiculous, I\u2019m really bored, I need to get out and about and do some stuff.’\u201d<\/p>\n She then recalled asking if she could get a taxi and go to a mall. \u201cThey said, \u2018We really don\u2019t think you should do this,\u2019 and I said, \u2018I want to do it,\u2019\u201d Page said.<\/p>\n Once she arrived at the mall, she noted that the \u201catmosphere just changed\u201d after she spent the afternoon there.<\/p>\n Olivia Rodrigo Gushes Over Boyfriend Louis Partridge and His New Netflix Show \u2018House of Guinness\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt just started feeling really menacing. I had no way of getting back to the hotel, I didn\u2019t have a car, I didn\u2019t really know where I was going,\u201d she continued. \u201cI remember leaving the [mall] and there was a [parking lot] and loads of fellas in cars everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n Page resorted to asking one of the men in the cars to take her back to the hotel, noting she would have been \u201cstuck\u201d otherwise.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I got in the car and then he drove off and he drove me around for about an hour and [30 minutes] telling me that he was going to take me somewhere, I was going to take off all of my clothes and he was going to take photos of me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Page continued, \u201cAnd I just remember thinking, \u2018Oh my God,\u2019 you know most of the time you can find yourself in dodgy situations but you kind of think, \u2018Oh, I can get myself out of this quite easily.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to say that the experience in the car \u201cwas the only situation\u201d she ever thought, \u201cYou\u2019re in the s\u2013t. This is serious. You can\u2019t get yourself out of this. I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m going to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
