Mark Wahlberg’s kids loving seeing him swear in films<\/p>\n
The 54-year-old actor – who has kids Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, and Grace, 15, with wife Rhea Durham, 47 – was joined by his family at the premiere of new movie Play Dirty this week, and now his children have grown up they’ve started to appreciate his work on the big screen.<\/p>\n
He told PEOPLE magazine: “We saw this movie together, we were in Paris, we were all hanging out in Paris.<\/p>\n
“I was doing Family Plan 2, and they love this movie. So now, they love seeing dad swearing, kicking a** \u2014 all the things that they couldn’t see when they were kids, they’re now allowed to see.<\/p>\n
“And I think they enjoy those more.”<\/p>\n
\nMark was delighted to have the whole family together on the red carpet for the event.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: “I’m so excited that all of my kids [are here], because my daughter’s been away at school, everybody’s kind of doing their own thing at this age.<\/p>\n
\n“I really want to just spend time with them. So it’s great that we all got to get together, even if it’s just for the night.”<\/p>\n
\nHe shot Play Dirty in Australia, and it was tough being “away from home” on the other side of the world for such a long stretch.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “You know, it’s a difficult shoot a long time away from home, we shot in Australia. It’s very far away, missing family.”<\/p>\n
\nHis wife and kids did visit him during the shoot, and he insisted the “biggest sacrifice” is being away from his loved ones, while he can handle the physical demands of action movies at this stage in his career.<\/p>\n
\nHe explained: “I think that’s the biggest sacrifice, but you know, for me the action stuff is easy.<\/p>\n
\n“I’ve kind of I’ve done it all. I’m not worried about doing my own stunts. I’m more worried about bringing this character to life.”<\/p>\n
