The photos from the Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/em><\/strong> reunion event<\/a> are here!<\/p>\n The show\u2019s original leads, Katie Holmes<\/strong><\/a>, Michelle Williams<\/strong><\/a>, and Joshua Jackson<\/strong><\/a>, all participated in the staged reading of the pilot episode on Monday night (September 22) at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. If you don\u2019t know, the event was held to benefit Dawson actor James Van Der Beek<\/strong><\/a> and F Cancer<\/a>. James<\/strong> announced his diagnosis with stage 3 colorectal cancer<\/a> in 2024, after being diagnosed in 2023.<\/p>\n James <\/strong>could not be in attendance due to illness<\/a>, but he did send a video message<\/a>. Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/strong><\/a> stepped in to read the leading role in his place.<\/p>\n Also on hand for the event were cast members Busy Philipps<\/strong><\/a>, Mary Beth Peil<\/strong><\/a>, John Wesley Shipp<\/strong><\/a>, Mary-Margaret Humes<\/strong><\/a>, Nina Repeta<\/strong><\/a>, Kerr Smith<\/strong><\/a>, Meredith Monroe<\/strong><\/a>, as well as Broadway stars Renee Elise Goldsberry<\/strong><\/a> and Norm Lewis<\/strong><\/a>. Renee <\/strong>acted as the narrator for the evening, while Norm <\/strong>performed a Phantom of the Opera<\/em> song!<\/p>\n James <\/strong>actually recorded a video to introduce James<\/strong>\u2018 performance, and said, \u201cNow, nobody in their right mind would ever draw a parallel between the two, but one very big similarity between Dawson and The Phantom of the Opera is that when both of them were faced with the reality that the woman they loved truly loved somebody else, they said, \u2018Go to him. Go to him now before I change my mind.\u2019. Of course only one resulted in a crying face meme,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Another surprise moment was a cameo from director Steven Spielberg<\/strong><\/a>, who is mentioned in the pilot. He sent in a video message, where he said, \u201cDawson, you made it\u2026Maybe someday, I will get to have a Dawson\u2019s closet.\u201d<\/p>\n Busy <\/strong>joined the series well after the pilot episode, so she actually read the role of Pacey\u2019s English teacher who he loses his virginity to<\/a>.
