“Early in the process the filmmaker had them read parts of Saint Joan, the classic George Bernard Shaw play\u2014but also a monologue from Fleabag. \u201cThe Shaw was very classical and what people expect,\u201d Luhrmann says, \u201cand the idea was to flip it and give some material that was completely contemporary.\u201d<\/p>\n
