Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid<\/strong><\/a> addressed the latest viral on-field moment between himself and Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Reid, 67, and Kelce, 35, bumped chests and had an animated exchange<\/a> on the sidelines during the second quarter of the Chiefs\u2019 game against the New York Giants on Sunday, September, 21.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The incident was caught on camera by NBC and then spread like wildfire on social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI love Travis\u2019 passion, man,\u201d Reid told reporters after the game. \u201cI\u2019m OK with that. We didn\u2019t have enough of it in the second quarter. It wasn\u2019t where we needed it to be, so, within reason, he knows when to back off the pedal and knows when to push it, too.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Reid added, \u201cThat\u2019s the part I love about him. The guy is all-in. Sometimes, I have to be the policeman. He\u2019s an emotional guy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Ultimately, Reid urged all concerned parties not to \u201cmake too much of it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a passionate guy, and I love that part,\u201d Reid said of Kelce. \u201cI\u2019ve been through a lot of things with him. That\u2019s all part of it. I love that he loves to play the game. That\u2019s what I love. It\u2019s an emotional game, so I\u2019ll take it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes<\/strong> also told reporters not to overblow the interaction between his head coach and superstar tight end.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a guy that loves it,\u201d Mahomes said of Kelce. \u201cThat\u2019s what\u2019s made him so great. I know they love each other. That\u2019s what you want out of the greats.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The Chiefs recovered after a sloppy first half pull away from the Giants to win the game, 22-9. It was the first win of the season for Kansas City, who improved their record to 1-2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Kelce finished the game with four catches for 26 yards. Through the first three games of the season, Kelce has 10 receptions for 134 yards and one touchdown.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Kansas City returns to action at home on Sunday, September 28, against the Baltimore Ravens.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The dust-up between Reid and Kelce on Sunday mirrored a similar situation between the pair<\/a> during Super Bowl LVIII in 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
