The 80-year-old has used her forthcoming memoir Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, to tell never-before-heard stories about her life as the singing icon\u2019s wife, including her worries for Rob\u2019s safety due to Elvis\u2019 obsession with firearms.<\/p>\n
In an extract from the book obtained by Page Six, she says: \u201c(Elvis would) have gone ballistic, maybe literally, if he\u2019d known Robert was in my bedroom. <\/p>\n
\u201cElvis always carried a loaded gun, sometimes more than one.\u201d <\/p>\n
Priscilla began dating Robert in 1975, two years after her divorce from Elvis. <\/p>\n
\nBefore meeting the lawyer, she also had a relationship with karate instructor Mike Stone. <\/p>\n
\nRobert later married Kris Jenner in 1978, with whom he had four children, before their divorce in 1991. <\/p>\n
\nHe died of cancer in 2003, aged 59.<\/p>\n
\nIn her book, Priscilla writes: \u201cRobert was a sweet man, and I liked him.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nShe adds his career as a prominent Hollywood attorney made a relationship difficult.<\/p>\n
\nPriscilla added: \u201cHis demanding job had him working long hours.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAuthor Jerry Oppenheimer previously detailed the pair\u2019s relationship in his 2017 book The Kardashians: An American Drama. <\/p>\n
\nAccording to Priscilla\u2019s friend Joni Migdal, Robert had hoped for marriage and children. <\/p>\n
\nJoni said: \u201cPriscilla made Robert very happy. He wanted to marry her and have children with her. That was definitely his hope, his plan.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe memoir also refers to Elvis\u2019 continued presence in Priscilla\u2019s life. <\/p>\n
\nFriends recalled Robert telling them Elvis would call during the night, sometimes speaking incoherently. <\/p>\n
\nPriscilla allegedly placed the receiver between herself and Robert in bed so he could listen to the conversations. <\/p>\n
\nRobert reportedly confided Elvis did not want Priscilla dating because of their daughter Lisa Marie Presley, born 1 February 1968. <\/p>\n
\nElvis died in 1977 aged 42, while Lisa Marie died in January 2023 from cardiac arrest at the age of 54.<\/p>\n
\nIn her memoir, Priscilla writes she remained close to Robert until his death. <\/p>\n
\nShe says: \u201cRobert and I had one last conversation before he died. He was the kindest of men, and I remember him with great affection.\u201d<\/p>\n
