Ellen DeGeneres<\/b> is facing a lawsuit two years after allegedly failing to follow traffic rules.<\/span><\/p>\n On Oct. 16, 2023, <\/span>the comedian<\/span><\/a> reportedly ignored a stop sign while driving in Santa Barbara County and \u201ct-boned\u201d a woman\u2019s car. The news was first reported by <\/span>TMZ<\/span><\/a> on Friday, Sept. 12.<\/span><\/p>\n According to <\/span>People<\/span><\/i><\/a>,<\/span> the lawsuit states that \u201cEllen DeGeneres entered the intersection without stopping at the stop sign.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It also notes that the intersection where the incident occurred on that day \u201cis controlled by stop signs in all directions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The unnamed plaintiff claims that although she did stop for her stop sign and \u201cmade sure there were no other vehicles\u201d present before driving forward, she claims in the lawsuit that <\/span>DeGeneres<\/span><\/a> entered the intersection <\/span>\u201csuddenly and without any warning\u201d before hitting the plaintiff\u2019s vehicle<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The lawsuit also claims DeGeneres engaged in \u201cnegligent conduct (that) fell below the standard of care of a reasonable person\u201d and alleges that she \u201cnegligently caused, or contributed to causing, plaintiff\u2019s vehicle to be collided with by the defendants\u2019 vehicle.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The woman who was involved in the crash says she has had to endure wage loss, hospital and medical expenses, among other costs, as well as \u201closs of enjoyment of life, emotional distress and anxiety.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Additionally, the woman says she has suffered \u201cmultiple serious personal injuries and damages\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n The plaintiff is suing for \u201cgeneral negligence and <\/span>an undisclosed amount of compensatory damages,\u201d <\/span>People<\/span><\/i> reports.<\/span><\/p>\n
