The actress, 41, has three children with her husband Taylor Goldsmith \u2013 sons August \u2018Gus\u2019\u00a0Harrison, born in 2021, and Oscar \u2018Ozzie\u2018 Bennett, born a year later, as well as daughter Louise \u2018Lou\u2019\u00a0Everett, who arrived in 2023. <\/p>\n
Mandy has now told People about life imitating art on This Is Us: \u201cThe overwhelming takeaway (from the show) is just being a parent now. <\/p>\n
\u201cWatching the show through that lens is really fascinating for me and for (co-star) Chris (Sullivan), because we both were parents towards the very end of the show.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reflecting on her early years filming the NBC series, she added: \u201cLooking back on those earlier seasons, I think, \u2018How the heck did I know what I was doing?\u2019 I didn\u2019t know how to change a diaper, I didn\u2019t know what was going on. It\u2019s pretty funny to think back to those early days.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMandy, who has partnered with Beyfortus, a treatment used to prevent RSV infections in babies and young children, starred in This Is Us from September 2016 until May 2022 and followed the lives of the Pearson family over several decades. <\/p>\n
\nMandy played Rebecca Pearson, who with her husband Jack, portrayed by Milo Ventimiglia, raised three children. <\/p>\n
\nThe ensemble cast also included Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Justin Hartley and Susan Kelechi Watson.<\/p>\n
\nThe drama series was nominated for 39 Emmy Awards and won four, including the Television Academy Honors in 2017.<\/p>\n
\nSince its conclusion, Mandy, Sterling and Chris have launched That Was Us, a rewatch podcast revisiting episodes of the series. <\/p>\n
\nMandy told People the project had jogged memories of storylines she had forgotten.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI think we\u2019re discovering we have a real blind spot for a couple of seasons, where it wasn\u2019t the beginning of the show, and it wasn\u2019t the end. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo things are a little hazy, and it\u2019s pretty revelatory when we watch these episodes again. Like, \u2018Oh wow, I totally forgot about that\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
