Robert Irwin<\/b> is opening up about the special moment he experienced after making his <\/span>Dancing with the Stars<\/span><\/i> debut.<\/span><\/p>\n The 21-year-old wowed the judges and audience with his first dance alongside partner <\/span>Witney Carson<\/b> on the show\u2019s 34th season. The dynamic duo performed<\/a> an upbeat jive to <\/span>\u201cBorn to Be Wild\u201d<\/span><\/i> while dressed in jungle-themed outfits\u2014a touching nod to Robert\u2019s late father, <\/span>Steve Irwin<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Judge, <\/span>Derek Hough<\/b><\/a>, who has been on the panel since 2020, even declared Irwin\u2019s routine as \u201cthe best first dance I\u2019ve ever seen on the show.\u201d \u201cThat was incredible\u201d, he added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cListen, you had some big shoes to fill with Bindi, but you didn\u2019t just fill them \u2014 you owned those shoes, my friend,\u201d Hough said. \u201cHave you been practicing? Have you <\/span>been practicing for 10 years?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Another judge <\/span>Bruno Tonioli<\/b> also had nothing but good things to say to the dance partners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cRobert, mate, that wasn\u2019t good. It was great! Wow, wonderful in the best possible way,\u201d Tonioli said. \u201cYour flicks, kicks and flicks side by side with the pointed feet \u2014 absolutely brilliant.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The sweetest part of the night, though, came right after the <\/span>riveting performance<\/span><\/a>. As the crowd erupted in applause, Robert ran into the audience to give his sister, Bindi, a big hug.<\/span><\/p>\n Bindi, who competed on <\/span>DWTS<\/span><\/a> in 2015 during season 21 and won the coveted mirrorball trophy, was clearly emotional watching her younger brother follow in her footsteps.<\/span><\/p>\n
