They\u2019re joined by co-founder <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/person\/rob-bishop\" target=\"_blank\">Rob Bishop<\/a>, who sold his computer vision and machine learning company, Magic Pony Technology, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2016\/06\/20\/twitter-is-buying-magic-pony-technology-which-uses-neural-networks-to-improve-images\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to Twitter<\/a> in 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.macroscope.com\/blog\/introducing-macroscope\" target=\"_blank\">describes its product<\/a> as an \u201cAI-powered understanding engine\u201d that\u2019s designed to save engineers time, and the type of product the founders \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/macroscope.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\">wish we\u2019d had<\/a>\u201d when building their earlier companies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Today, engineers use a variety of tools to keep track of work, like JIRA, Linear, and spreadsheets, and spend too much time in meetings instead of building, Beykpour says. They can then optionally install other integrations, like a Slack app, Linear app, and JIRA app. The software then does the rest of the work by analyzing the code and noting what\u2019s changing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This involves a process called code walking, which uses the Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) \u2014 a structural representation of programming code \u2014 to gather important context about how the customer\u2019s code base works. Meanwhile, product leaders could use the software to get real-time summaries of product updates, productivity insights, answers to natural language questions about the product, code, or development activity, and more. Very valuable. However, the company said when it ran its own internal benchmark of over 100 real-world bugs, its product caught 5% more bugs than the next-best tool. It also generated 75% fewer comments. (It <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.macroscope.com\/blog\/code-review-benchmark\" target=\"_blank\">shared its benchmark publicly in a blog post<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<figure
