Melania Trump<\/a>, 55, were welcomed to Windsor Castle by the royals on Wednesday (17.09.25) before meeting with King Charles III and Queen Camilla – who has recovered from acute sinusitis.<\/p>\nTaking to Instagram Stories, the Prince of Wales posted a picture of him meeting Trump with the President’s aircraft the Marine One in the backdrop.<\/p>\n
He captioned the post: \u201cWelcome President Trump.”<\/p>\n
William, 43, introduced Trump to the King, 76, and could be heard saying \u201cthis is my father\u201d, as the pair met.<\/p>\n
\nThe monarch and the President shared a royal carriage ahead of the procession, while Queen Camilla, 78, and the First Lady followed on in the Scottish State Coach. <\/p>\n
\nTrump and the King then carried out an inspection of the guard of honour as the American and British national anthems were played.<\/p>\n
\nAfter finishing their inspection, the President and the King could be seen laughing and joking, with Trump saying, \u201cthanks very much\u201d several times as he was led back to the dais.<\/p>\n
\nTrump and Charles were then spotted exchanging a few friendly words as they made their way inside Windsor Castle for a private state lunch following the procession.<\/p>\n
\nThe pair are expected to exchange gifts, with the BBC reporting that King Charles will give Trump a bespoke hand-bound leather volume to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. <\/p>\n
\nHe will also receive the Union Flag that flew over Buckingham Palace on the day of his second inauguration in January 2025.<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, the First Lady will be gifted a silver and enamel bowl handcrafted by Northern Irish artist Cara Murphy, as well as a personalised Anya Hindmarch handbag.<\/p>\n
\nTrump will gift Charles a replica of a President Eisenhower sword as a \u201creminder of the historical partnership that was critical to winning World War II\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nAs for the Queen, she will receive a Tiffany and Co vintage 18K gold, diamond and ruby flower brooch.<\/p>\n
\nAfterwards, the Trumps had a special display of the Royal Collection in the Green Drawing Room, where they were shown items from American history, such as the 1624 General Historie of Virginia map by John Smith.<\/p>\n
\nLater on, the President and First Lady visited St George\u2019s Chapel, where the pair laid a wreath at the tomb of the late Queen Elizabeth II – who Trump previously met during his first state visit in 2019.<\/p>\n
\nWhile the guests will be no longer be treated to a royal flypast due to weather conditions, the UK\u2019s Red Arrows are still expected to appear over Windsor, which Trump will watch alongside UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.<\/p>\n
\nThe day will end with the President and First Lady attending a traditional state banquet, during which both Trump and the King will deliver speeches.<\/p>\n
\nThe royals\u2019 guests will then stay overnight at Windsor Castle, before Trump travels to Chequers – the Prime Minister\u2019s country house in Buckinghamshire – for talks on Thursday (18.09.25).<\/p>\n
