Former NYPD Blue<\/em> star Kim Delaney <\/strong><\/a>was accused of \u201cslurring\u201d her words and having \u201cunsteady\u201d balance while walking after a 2022 car crash, according to a witness who detailed what she saw in a new court filing, Us Weekly<\/em> can exclusively report.<\/p>\n

Delaney, 63, stands accused of a hit-and-run on November 6, 2022. The actress allegedly crashed into a man named Dzhamal Badalov<\/strong>. Delaney was driving a black Mercedes and Badalov was on a motorcycle. Badalov sued Delaney for unspecified damages. She denied all allegations of wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

A trial date has been set for January 12, 2026, in the lawsuit. The Los Angeles City Attorney\u2019s Office allowed Delaney to enter a diversion program<\/a> in connection with the incident, according to Radar Online. She was ordered to perform community service and complete a DUI class.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, September 7, Badalov filed new evidence he plans to use at the trial. He submitted declarations from two witnesses to the crash.<\/p>\n

After appearing on the soap for three years, Delaney joined the cast of NYPD Blue as detective Diane Russell, a character who struggled with alcoholism. Much like her character, Delaney also suffers [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One witness, named Ashlee Cartznes<\/strong>, described what she saw on the evening of November 6, 2022. \u201cI was driving with my boyfriend, Jonathan De Jesus<\/strong>, in the front passenger seat next to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said while driving, she remembers casually looking up in her rear-mirror mirror and noticing a \u201cblack Mercedes coming up on us really fast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the black Mercedes quickly approached us, I thought it was going to hit us, so I immediately switched to another lane to avoid getting rear-ended.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cartznes said she noticed the driver slam on their brakes and stop in the middle of an intersection when the light was red. After the light turned green, Cartznes said she avoided getting near the other driver who continued to drive \u201cerratically without staying in the street lanes.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said the other driver was \u201cswerving into the concrete median in the middle of the street.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly confirmed in August 2022 that Ariana was arrested after being involved in a car crash. Amid her legal issues, the Bravo personality denied drinking and driving before the vehicle collision. \u201cAriana [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI witnessed the driver of the black Mercedes slam her brakes while quickly approaching the motorcycle but amid stopping, the vehicle it ended up crashing into [the] rear of motorcycle,\u201d she said. \u201cI witnessed the driver of the motorcycle get thrown off his bike onto the street.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cartznes said she pulled over to check on the motorcycle driver.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt took a while for the driver of the black Mercedes to get out of her vehicle, but when she eventually got out, she appeared intoxicated,\u201d the witness said. \u201cThe driver of the black Mercedes appeared intoxicated because she was not able to walk properly and had to stand beside her vehicle, her eyes were all over the place, her balance looked unsteady, and she was slurring while attempting to speak.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cartznes also noted the driver was \u201cbarefoot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI noticed that she had a wedding ring on. I recommended that the driver of the black Mercedes call her husband on speakerphone because the driver was so impaired that she couldn\u2019t speak properly,\u201d Cartznes said. \u201cI spoke with the woman\u2019s husband and explained that it is not safe for her to drive and that she needs to be picked up. The woman\u2019s husband told her that she needed to get into the car and drive away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cartznes said she advised that the driver couldn\u2019t drive and it\u2019s not safe for her or others but the driver\u2019s husband \u201cdemanded to be taken off speaker and kept telling the women to drive away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI then observed the woman stumble back into her black Mercedes and drive away very erratically,\u201d Cartznes said. \u201cWe then called the police, who arrived quickly, but the black Mercedes had already left the scene of the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n
