Aubrey Plaza<\/strong> doesn\u2019t necessarily love watching herself on camera. \u201cIt\u2019s really weird,\u201d she tells Vanity Fair.<\/em> \u201cI\u2019ve seen too much. I\u2019ve done too much.\u201d But Plaza got over her misgivings for VF<\/em>\u2019s Scene Selection<\/em> series, which found the actor watching key scenes from projects including Parks and Recreation,<\/em> Ingrid Goes West,<\/em> and The White Lotus.<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n The exercise begins with a scene from Parks and Recreation,<\/em> which Plaza noted was filmed over a decade ago. \u201cIs it just me, or is my voice 10 pitches higher?\u201d she asks. \u201cI sound completely different. Life has beaten me down. My voice is lower. Am I like, 11 years old in this show?\u201d<\/p>\n While watching a scene from The White Lotus,<\/em> meanwhile, Plaza notes that she hasn\u2019t watched her entire season yet. \u201cI wasn\u2019t planning to until 10 years from now,\u201d she says. \u201cUnless I\u2019m producing something, I\u2019ll watch it 100 million times. But if I\u2019m just acting in something I generally don\u2019t watch it.\u201d<\/p>\n The scene in question finds Plaza\u2019s prickly Harper getting a little saucy while on vacation in Italy with her husband, Ethan (Will Sharpe<\/strong>), and their frenemies Cameron (Theo James<\/strong>) and Daphne (Meghann Fahy<\/strong>). \u201cHow do I play drunk?” Plaza asks herself. \u201cI have a sort of sense memory approach. And I do a lot of research. So I know what it feels like to be very, very drunk. And I conjure up those moments. And I relive them, over and over again. And then I do a physical exercise\u2014sometimes I spin around in circles. It really depends on the level of drunkenness.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n In the video, Plaza also shares that prior to The White Lotus,<\/em> she and creator Mike White<\/strong> were working on a project together that got \u201ckind of messed up\u201d by the pandemic. \u201cWe\u2019d been wanting to work together for awhile. After the first season of The White Lotus,<\/em> he decided to throw me in there,\u201d she says. \u201cAnd yeah, he called me up and said he was writing a part for me. It was very simple. It doesn\u2019t always happen like that.\u201d<\/p>\n Plaza also takes a look back at two films, Ingrid Goes West<\/em> and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.<\/em> Plaza credits her costar Elizabeth Olsen,<\/strong> whom she affectionately refers to as \u201cLizzie,\u201d for making the first film work. Scott Pilgrim<\/em>\u2019s shoot, she says, was like a summer camp, with many of its stars\u2014including Michael Cera,<\/strong> Brie Larson,<\/strong> and Chris Evans<\/strong>\u2014going on to fabulous careers. \u201cI think we all felt like there was something special going on,\u201d she says. \u201cWe were experiencing something really rare and unique.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
