Nate Bargatze<\/strong> may be a comedian, but he\u2019s taking his first-time hosting duties at the Emmys very seriously\u2014and putting his money where is mouth is.<\/p>\n In an interview during the September 10 episode<\/a> of Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em>, Bargatze revealed his plan to keep the acceptance speeches short this year and ensure the show fits in its three hour time slot.<\/p>\n \u201cEverybody gets 45 seconds to do all the thank yous,\u201d Bargatze explained in the interview. \u201cSo, what I came up with is I\u2019m gonna donate $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Club. That\u2019s what the show\u2019s starting out with. Everybody does their 45 seconds. If someone goes over, we take away $1,000 a second. I know it\u2019s tough. If you go under, we will put $1,000 back on, so you can give it back.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarifying that this is not just another silly host joke, Bargatze added, \u201cIt\u2019s real, real. That\u2019s why we did the add on, cause I thought everybody would think it was a joke if we just took away. I swear. I\u2019m putting the money up.\u201d<\/p>\n Bargatze is now in the thick of Emmys preparations, sharing a video<\/a> of him helping to roll out the red carpet for the event on his Instagram.<\/p>\n The comedian also has a busy weekend booked ahead of the awards show, with shows for his comedy tour in Denver on Friday and Saturday night.<\/p>\n \u201cI think I want to be busy,\u201d Bargatze shared with Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong>. \u201cI\u2019ll be doing shows in Denver, so I\u2019ll be being funny onstage and all I\u2019ve got to do is that, here, in front of the people here.\u201d<\/p>\n Bargatze also admitted that while he hasn\u2019t seen all the shows up for nomination, he\u2019s sure they\u2019re great. \u201cIt\u2019s a bunch of shows, and I\u2019ve seen a lot of the trailers and commercials for the shows. So, I get the vibe of them, you know?\u201d he shared with Kimmel as the audience laughed.<\/p>\n Bargatze is set to host the 77th Annual Emmy Awards<\/a> live on CBS on Sunday September 14.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
