The remake was set to go into principal photography this month, but now everyone\u2019s back to the drawing board, schedule-wise.<\/p>\n<p>For Cavill, this was supposed to be his big sword-wielding moment. The former <em>Superman<\/em> star had been training intensively for months, and he wasn\u2019t shy about building up expectations. \u201cIf you think you\u2019ve seen me do sword work before, you haven\u2019t seen anything yet,\u201d he teased at CinemaCon in 2024. The project has certainly had its share of ups and downs, bouncing from Lionsgate to Amazon MGM Studios along the way.<\/p>\n<p>The good news? The cast remains absolutely stacked. <a href=\"https:\/\/socialitelife.com\/tag\/russell-crowe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Russell Crowe<\/a> is on board as the mentor figure, alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/socialitelife.com\/tag\/dave-bautista\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dave Bautista<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/socialitelife.com\/tag\/karen-gillian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karen Gillan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/socialitelife.com\/tag\/djimon-hounsou\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Djimon Hounsou<\/a>, <strong>Marisa Abela<\/strong>, and <strong>Max Zhang<\/strong>. So when Cavill recovers and they do get rolling in 2026, it\u2019s going to be quite the ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>This delay does throw a wrench into Amazon MGM Studios\u2019 original timeline. This remake represents a chance to introduce the immortal warrior concept to a whole new generation, complete with modern action sensibilities and what\u2019s sure to be some spectacular sword fights.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, everyone\u2019s focused on making sure Cavill gets the time he needs to recover properly.
