A second raid was conducted on Thursday, September 11, at the Costa Rican resort where Miller Gardner<\/strong><\/a> was found dead earlier this year \u2014 and Us Weekly<\/i> has the exclusive details.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday, a second search was carried out to collect evidence that is still missing or that the Prosecutor\u2019s Office considers necessary for the investigation,\u201d Kenneth Alberto \u00c1lvarez Barboza<\/strong>, Prosecutor of Quepos, exclusively told Us on Thursday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Miller, the youngest son of former New York Yankees player Brett Gardner<\/strong><\/a>, died at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort in Manuel Antonio in March<\/a>. He was 14 years old.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first raid of the hotel was conducted in March, which aimed at taking \u201cmeasurements of toxic substances\u201d found in the rooms where the Gardner family was staying.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWith Miller Gardner\u2019s cause of death officially on the record, attention now turns to potential legal action his family might take in Costa Rica.\u00a0 Miller, the 14-year-old son of former New York Yankees star Brett Gardner, was found dead inside his room at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Hotel in the country\u2019s tourist [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Miller was ruled to have died by carbon monoxide poisoning<\/a> while vacationing in Costa Rica with his father, his mother, Jessica<\/strong>, and his older brother, Hunter<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s efforts focused on collecting digital evidence as well as physical documents and other materials that could help the Prosecutor\u2019s Office continue developing its investigative theory and determine whether any individual(s) may be responsible for the minor\u2019s death,\u201d \u00c1lvarez Barboza explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the digital evidence seized were \u201ccomputers, electronic devices containing recorded information, routine control logs, work order documents and other related materials.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the investigation, both the Prosecutor\u2019s Office and the Judicial Police \u201cneed to determine whether there was any intentional or negligent involvement by the hotel or any other place where the minor may have come into contact with harmful substances.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c1lvarez Barboza said interviews \u201cwithin that line of investigation, aimed at gathering evidence\u201d were conducted with individuals at the resort, but maintained \u201cno suspects have been identified.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe investigation has not been directed toward any individual,\u201d the prosecutor said. \u201cWe are solely focused on collecting the necessary evidence and information.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As the investigation continues, the Gardner family has been kept abreast of every development.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that the family hired a law firm here in Costa Rica, and it is through them that they have received information,\u201d \u00c1lvarez Barboza said. \u201cThroughout the progress of the investigation, the Prosecutor\u2019s Office has maintained constant communication with them and has kept them informed about the investigative procedures in the case, in which they are recognized as victims.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAs questions continue to surround the death of 14-year-old Miller Gardner, a Costa Rican doctor has helped shed some light on the case.\u00a0 Dr. Maikel Vargas-Sanabria, a forensic pathologist and professor at the University of Costa Rica, exclusively told Us Weekly why authorities could have initially believed Gardner \u2014 the son of former New York [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
