Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> alum Lindsay Arnold<\/strong><\/a> got candid about how her parents helped her develop a healthy body image growing up.<\/p>\n

In a recent TikTok video<\/a>, Lindsay, 31, gave a shout-out to parents Mindy<\/strong> and Josh Arnold<\/strong> while revealing \u201cthings my family did growing up that might not be normal.\u201d Along with her siblings not doing chores and rarely ordering \u201cspecial drinks\u201d at restaurants, Lindsay said there wasn\u2019t a scale in her childhood home.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were never allowed to weigh ourselves,\u201d she said. \u201cWe did not own a scale. \u2026 I literally think the first time I weighed myself was probably when I was, like, 19 or 20 and moved out of the house. I was at a hotel and there was a random scale there and I did it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lindsay explained that her dad was a \u201cstickler\u201d about this rule for her and sisters Jensen<\/strong>, 27, Brynley<\/strong>, 25, and Rylee<\/strong>, 20.<\/p>\n

\u201c[He didn\u2019t want us] knowing about or focusing on or thinking about our weight, and I\u2019m really, really grateful for that,\u201d the ballroom pro continued. \u201cI feel like it helped me so much with my body image growing up and even now.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Lindsay, her dad\u2019s approach left an impression. \u201cTo this day, I honestly don\u2019t really care about how much I weigh,\u201d she said. \u201cLike, I really don\u2019t care. I do not feel like your weight is a proper depiction of your true health, so I just don\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arnold has spoken candidly about embracing her body<\/a> over the years, especially after welcoming her daughters, Sage, 4, and June, 2, with husband Sam Cusick<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cProud of this body and all it did to get baby girl here,\u201d she captioned an Instagram Story less than a week after giving birth to June via C-section in 2023. In the photo, she showed off her bandaged stomach while wearing joggers and a tank top.<\/p>\n
