The singer, 34, clarifying his family will only relocate temporarily to America while he tours.<\/p>\n
Ed arrived in New York on Wednesday (10.09.25), and was spotted visiting the Paramount and CBS offices dressed casually in a black hoodie, joggers and colourful trainers. <\/p>\n
His trip followed a wave of speculation about his plans after comments on a podcast suggested he was preparing to settle in America for good.<\/p>\n
But addressing the reports in a new Instagram post, Ed said: \u201cWay easier to clear up stuff on here so here\u2019s me setting record straight, coz there\u2019s deffo a narrative press are trying to push that people wanna move out of UK for some reason. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m not moving, I\u2019m going on tour with my family and relocating to the continent I\u2019m touring on, don\u2019t wanna commute from London to San Diego obvz. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cAlso this isn\u2019t a tax thing, it\u2019s USA not UAE. Il always pay tax in UK coz that\u2019s where I live. Play out Friday go listen to it x.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEd, who owns an estimated \u00a370 million property portfolio, recently bought a \u00a39 million home in New York but spends most of his time at Sheeranville, his Suffolk estate, with his wife Cherry Seaborn and their daughters Lyra and Jupiter.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on the 2 Johnnies podcast earlier this year, Ed had said: \u201cI\u2019m just about to move to America. I feel like I might be the only person moving to America. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m going on tour there for a while and I have a family so I can\u2019t dip in and out. We\u2019re going and settling there.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe singer also previously spoke of ambitions to transition into country music. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cWhen you transition to country, you can\u2019t transition back. Nashville is my favourite city in the States and it\u2019s always been my end goal to move to Nashville and transition to country.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEd, who grew up in Suffolk, has described his cultural identity as Irish because of his father John\u2019s Belfast roots. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast, he said: \u201cI class my culture as Irish. I think that\u2019s what I grew up with. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cMy dad\u2019s family is\u2026 he\u2019s got seven brothers and sisters. We\u2019d spend all of our holidays in Ireland. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cMy first musical experiences were in Ireland, I grew up with trad music in the house. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo I identify culturally as Irish, but I was obviously born and raised in Britain.\u201d<\/p>\n
