Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are set to tie the knot<\/p>\n
The 33-year-old star is one of the most famous, and most photographed, women in the world – but her fiance helps Selena to remain grounded.<\/p>\n
The brunette beauty told Allure: “I appreciate his heart, his kindness, his quirks \u2026 He’s one of the most grounding people in my life, and he makes me feel very normal.”<\/p>\n
The loved-up duo began dating in 2023 and they announced their engagement in December 2024. But Selena doubts whether their relationship would’ve survived and thrived ten years ago.<\/p>\n
Speaking about her personal evolution, Selena explained: “I don’t think I would have been remotely mature enough.<\/p>\n
\n“It’s weird to think that only five years ago I wouldn’t have been in the right place, but I\u2019ve learned so many lessons [since then] that led me to being the best partner I could be for Benny. And I believe the same with him.<\/p>\n
\n“He’ll say, \u2018Gosh, why did we waste so much time?\u2019 And I always say, \u2018You wouldn’t have liked me back then.\u2019 I was all over the place.”<\/p>\n
\nSelena has been busily preparing for her wedding in recent months, and the actress confirmed that her longtime makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, will be part of the big day.<\/p>\n
\nShe shared: “If I find [a makeup look] I like on Pinterest, I lean into that, and then I’ll get a suggestion from Hung and combine it all. It\u2019s a process.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Selena previously revealed that she never imagined dating Benny when they first met.<\/p>\n
\nThe singer – who worked with the record producer on a number of songs – said on the Jake Shane podcast: “It\u2019s all about timing to meet that person even if I did think, ‘Oh I need to take this a step forward then it wouldn\u2019t have worked’. Simply you just have to be there mentally in order to move forward with something healthy.<\/p>\n
\n“Then we reunited for Single Soon \u2026 it wasn\u2019t our favourite \u2026 just because I can say this cause I\u2019m marrying him. Just really wasn\u2019t what I thought I wanted so he came in and he agrees on a lot of levels but he just came in and I was like oh \u2018Hi Benny\u2019 and we spoke for two hours and I asked him to hook me up with anybody that he knew that was cute and he was like, \u2018Oh we do these things, these dinner nights. You should come\u2019 … and next thing you know we\u2019re dating.”<\/p>\n
