The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em><\/a> creator Jenny Han<\/strong> got in on the fun by getting Jeremiah\u2019s legendary dark chocolate mirror glaze cake for her birthday.<\/p>\n Han, 45, took to Instagram earlier this month to share highlights<\/a> from her festivities, which included a party attended by her celebrity friends, including Lauren Graham, Ali Wong<\/strong> and Bill Hader<\/strong>. While Us<\/em> certainly noticed couple Wong and Hader in the snaps, it was the cake choice that caught social media users\u2019 attention since the author appeared to be enjoying a dark chocolate cake with a raspberry coulis filling and a mirror glaze on top.<\/p>\n Those watching season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em> know that exact cake was what Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno<\/strong>) requested for his and Belly\u2019s (Lola Tung<\/strong>) wedding before she realized<\/a> it was out of their price range. With help from Jeremiah\u2019s brother, Conrad (Chris Briney<\/strong>), who is also Belly\u2019s ex-boyfriend, they came up with a new plan involving a single-tiered milk chocolate cake with raspberry coulis.<\/p>\n \u201cBelly, cacao is the bean. It\u2019s what the chocolate is made of. Look, the whole flavor profile depends on the bitterness of the dark chocolate and the sweet tartness of the raspberry,\u201d Jeremiah responded in an August episode, which became a viral moment. \u201cThe cake is my one thing, and you said each of us get one thing.\u201d<\/p>\n Belly asked that Jeremiah be \u201crealistic,\u201d<\/a> to which he replied, \u201cWell, then I\u2019ll put it on a card and pay it off later.\u201d<\/p>\n In the end, neither of them needed to worry about the $750 charge because Belly and Jeremiah didn\u2019t go through with their wedding. In an episode from last month, Jeremiah called off the nuptials after realizing Belly still had feelings for Conrad.<\/p>\n As the show has been more popular than ever (with Jeremiah seemingly not winning over as many fans in the love triangle), Casalegno recently broke his silence on the overwhelming backlash<\/a> against Jeremiah.<\/p>\n \u201cThey tend to dislike him, yes. I don\u2019t check Instagram anymore, so I really haven\u2019t seen that much hate,\u201d Casalegno, 26, told The New York Times<\/em> in August. \u201cThe only thing that I see is my sister sending me the memes that are really funny. I think it\u2019s important to also understand and realize that this is a fictional story \u2014 and it\u2019s also not me.\u201d<\/p>\n
