The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards<\/a> brought out the industry\u2019s brightest stars.<\/p>\n

But while the event\u2019s best and worst moments<\/a> kept fans glued to their TV screens on Sunday, September 7, a night full of untelevised moments were seen firsthand only by Us Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n

From famous faces unveiling killer dance moves away from the cameras inside New York City\u2019s UBS Arena, to the musical performance that scored the night\u2019s most rambunctious applause, non-stop behind-the-scenes action kept Us<\/em> on the edge of its seat all night.<\/p>\n

As for the event\u2019s most decorated artist, Lady Gaga<\/strong><\/a>, she offered brief-but-sweet interactions with a select few, while Ariana Grande<\/strong><\/a>, who came out with three of her own Moon Person trophies, made time for almost everybody in the room.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe 2025 MTV Video Music Awards celebrates the year\u2019s biggest artists and music videos, so of course they also delivered bold and unforgettable fashion moments. Some of Hollywood\u2019s favorites attended the star-studded affair, which took place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on Sunday, September 7. From Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Elsewhere, surprising friendships came to light, awkward run-ins couldn\u2019t be avoided and Mariah Carey<\/strong><\/a> finally took home the statue she\u2019d long been waiting for.<\/p>\n

Lady Gaga Arrived Late<\/h3>\n

The Artist of the Year recipient<\/a> was unable to attend the entire ceremony due to a conflicting Mayhem Ball<\/em> concert date at New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden. Gaga arrived after LL Cool J<\/strong>\u2019s opening monologue and quickly took her place in the front row next to Ariana after giving her a hug.<\/p>\n

Ariana Grande Fan Girled Over Lola Young<\/h3>\n

While Ariana walked away from the night with the Video of the Year, Best Pop and Best Longform Video trophies, she was also an avid supporter of her industry peers. Us<\/em> spotted the \u201cBrighter Days Ahead\u201d singer offering Lola Young<\/strong> a standing ovation after her performance.<\/p>\n

Stars Took Their Time Catching Up With Each Other<\/h3>\n

Us<\/em> saw plenty of star-powered interaction throughout the night, including FKA Twigs<\/strong> chatting to KATSEYE<\/strong>, Ariana and fashion stylist Law Roach<\/strong> leaving their seats together and rapper Sexyy Red<\/strong> hugging Jersey Shore<\/em>\u2019s DJ Pauly D<\/strong>. Ariana made sure she chatted to several industry friends including Carey after she presented her with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, Sabrina Carpenter<\/strong>, Frankie Grande<\/strong>, Tate McCrae<\/strong> and Too Much<\/em> star Megan Stalter<\/strong>, whom she hugged.<\/p>\n

Ricky Martin\u2019s Performance Rocked the House<\/h3>\n

The \u201cLivin\u2019 la Vida Loca\u201d star, who arrived on stage in a box, brought the house down with Tyla<\/strong>, Grande, KATSEYE, FKA Twigs, Frankie and other artists jumping out of their seats to dance. Speaking of standout musical acts, Busta Rhymes<\/strong> also raised energy levels and got everyone standing.<\/p>\n

A Technical Glitch Made KATSEYE\u2019s Award Awkward<\/h3>\n

Ice Spice<\/strong> and Latto<\/strong> didn\u2019t read \u2018KATSEYE\u2019 while presenting the Push Performance of the Year award. Music began playing as the presenters were about to open the winner\u2019s envelope. An awkward pause was felt before KATSEYE suddenly got on the stage.<\/p>\n

Mariah Carey Appeared Uncomfortable<\/h3>\n
