Defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles <\/span>Jalen Carter<\/b> was disqualified from their first game against the Cowboys for unsportsmanlike conduct on September 4 after he allegedly spat on opposing quarterback <\/span>Dak Prescott<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n The game had just barely begun when Carter approached Prescott and the pair exchanged words, ending in Carter\u2019s alleged <\/span>spitting on Prescott<\/span><\/a>. His actions caused him to be removed from the game and cost the team a 15-yard penalty.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While the Eagles ultimately continued on to a 24-20 win without him that evening, the incident still came with some regrets from Carter.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>I wanted to be out there with the guys so bad,\u201d Carter <\/span>shared with reporters<\/span><\/a>. \u201cJust to support and help, even just standing on the sidelines, but things went how they went. We just got to move on. I made a promise to them boys, it won\u2019t happen again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Prescott shared <\/span>his side of the story<\/span><\/a>, explaining that he spat on the ground first, which Carter seemed to take to mean that Prescott was spitting in his direction.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c[Carter] goes, \u2018Are you trying to spit on me?\u2019 At that point, I mean I felt like he was insulting me. I wouldn\u2019t spit on somebody,\u201d Prescott shared, \u201c\u2019I\u2019m damn sure I\u2019m not trying to spit on you.\u2019 We\u2019re about to play a game [\u2026] \u2018What would I need to spit on you for?\u2019 He just spit on me in that moment, it was more of a surprise than anything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Carter did not provide such a detailed account of the incident and simply <\/span>stated his regrets<\/span><\/a> after the game saying, \u201cIt was a mistake that happened on my side. It just won\u2019t happen again. I feel bad for just my teammates and the fans out there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
