Cori Broadus<\/b>, the 26-year-old daughter of <\/span>Snoop Dogg<\/b>, has shared an update from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) more than six months after prematurely giving birth to her first child. <\/span><\/p>\n Though her baby girl remains hospitalized, Broadus convoyed an optimistic outlook, and had words of support for other parents going through the same ordeal.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHi guys, it\u2019s Cori Broadus and Codi Dreux, and it\u2019s September, which means that it\u2019s National NICU Awareness Month,\u201d Broadus said <\/span>in an Instagram Reel<\/span><\/a> posted on Wednesday, Sept. 3. \u201cI wanna give a major shoutout to all of the moms, the dads, the nurses, the doctors, from one NICU mom to another. I know this is a hell of a ride, but there\u2019s nothing that God gives us that we can\u2019t handle.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Broadus previously <\/span>revealed on Feb. 28<\/span><\/a> that she had welcomed the baby girl with her fianc\u00e9 Wayne Deuce after 25 weeks, just two months after <\/span>confirming news of the pregnancy<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMy baby has been in the NICU for six months now, and the way I\u2019ve been going through it \u2026 It\u2019s such an emotional rollercoaster,\u201d she explained in the short video. \u201cAnd when we come in here, we try to make sure that our love is bigger than the wires and the tubes and the machines, and just staying strong for our Codi Dreux.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Broadus then reiterated her gratitude for the doctors and nurses who have been helping her family through the ordeal, as well as her fellow parents for making her not feel alone.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI mean we have truly become family at this point,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd the babies, you guys are so strong, resilient, you guys are literally tiny fighters, and you are the heroes we celebrate this month and every day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Broadus concluded her message with a prepared statement she had written for NICU awareness month. \u201cHere\u2019s to the long nights, the small victories, and the miracles in the making,\u201d she read from her phone. \u201cFrom a NICU\u2019s mom\u2019s heart, thanks for standing with us. We\u2019re still fighting, we\u2019re still believing, and we\u2019re still here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The youngest child and only daughter of the famed rapper is unfortunately no stranger to health issues. At just 7, Broadus was diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder lupus, as well as secondary antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. In 2024, just over a year before giving birth, she also <\/span>suffered a \u201csevere\u201d stroke<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Earlier this year, Broadus opened up about the condition that caused her daughter\u2019s premature birth, a rare, potentially life-threatening pregnancy complication called HELLP (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets) syndrome that <\/span>affects 0.1 to 0.6 percent<\/span><\/a> of pregnancies. She said that she first began experiencing upper abdominal pain the week of Feb. 25, and that her obstetrician initially suspected preeclampsia.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cShe told me I needed to go to UCLA labor and delivery right away,\u201d Broadus recalled to <\/span>UCLA Health<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI got ready and went in thinking it was just going to be a checkup. I thought, \u2018I\u2019m going to go right back home and we\u2019re gonna keep baking.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n However, after arriving at the hospital where doctors performed an array of tests, Broadus was diagnosed with the rare complication, which can be serious or fatal for the mother and child in up to 25 percent of cases if misdiagnosed. Her obstetrics team at UCLA Health quickly stabilized Broadus and prepared her for delivery, and she gave birth via C-section the next day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Since being welcomed into the world, Codi Dreux has remained in the NICU. But it seems clear that both mother and baby are fighters, and with any luck Codi Dreux will be coming home soon.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
