The 30-year-old \u2018Wrecking Ball\u2019 singer\u2019s eighth album \u2018Endless Summer Vacation\u2019 contained the hit single \u2018Flowers\u2019, which set a string of streaming records and spent eight weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming her second chart-topping song in the country.<\/p>\n
But she told British Vogue about realising the moment will pass as soon as she was told in the Sunset Club at The West Hollywood Edition hotel that \u2018Flowers\u2019 was a chart-topper: \u201cI\u2019m sober. I don\u2019t drink, I don\u2019t\u2026 you know, but I celebrate.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s like one o\u2019clock in the morning and Lil Nas X walks into the club and he asks me the most interesting question. He said, \u2018Are you so anxious about how successful \u201cFlowers\u201d is?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cI was like, \u2018No. I might be No1 now, but No2 is on its way.\u2019 Everything is seasonal.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added about insisting on staying \u201chonest\u201d about her situation: \u201cA lot of headlines (recently) have said, \u2018This is Miley\u2019s moment.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018That\u2019s exactly what it is. It\u2019s a moment. And it will be over.\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat\u2019s not pessimistic. That\u2019s honest and that\u2019s OK with me. I actually prefer it. I don\u2019t like to stay big.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMiley \u2013 who divorced actor Liam Hemsworth, 33, in 2020 \u2013 added when \u2018Endless Summer Vacation\u2019 was released she wasn\u2019t even in LA and didn\u2019t have her phone with her, and only knew about its success as her boyfriend Maxx Morando, 24, had his mobile.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cMy boyfriend brings his phone and I don\u2019t bring one. I had no way of knowing what number it would (chart at), and it wasn\u2019t of importance to me because it wouldn\u2019t have changed anything.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSomeone could say, \u2018It would be this number if you did that, or this number if you sell your soul\u2026 .\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ve been in the Garden of Eden before and I\u2019ve taken the red apple, and it never feels good.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDespite her realistic attitude towards success, Miley said she always wears her \u201cempowerment\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cOne thing I wouldn\u2019t want this story to become is a complaint of being a woman in the industry.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI don\u2019t need this to be a women\u2019s empowerment story. I wear my empowerment at all times. I don\u2019t need to profess it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI never need to be a master at the craft of tricking an audience. It will set itself on fire all by itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
