While Prime Video\u2019s The Runarounds<\/em> is related to Outer Banks<\/em><\/a> \u2014 and even shares some similar actors \u2014 the TV universe isn\u2019t \u201cconnected\u201d enough for a crossover (yet).<\/p>\n

During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly<\/em>, The Runarounds<\/em> cast William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zend\u00e9 Murdock<\/strong> and Jesse Golliher<\/strong> weighed in on reuniting with Outer Banks<\/em><\/a> stars on screen after their season 3 cameo.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think [our band] were just established enough to get a wedding anniversary gig on Outer Banks,\u201d Ellis said of the scene that paved the way for their own show. \u201cThey were still a high school band kind of learning the ropes. They probably messed up a thing or two with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murdock, meanwhile, noted that the brief crossover was<\/a> \u201cnot meant to be taken super seriously\u201d by fans.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJackson Lee Davis\/Netflix Outer Banks is coming to an end, but the fictional world is still growing with a prequel and a spinoff. The hit Netflix series, which premiered in 2020, introduced the conflict between two groups of teenagers in a coastal North Carolina town. The social divide was focused on the Kooks, a.k.a. the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThat was more for us in real life to go off the creation,\u201d he added. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t have much to do with the universe.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band at the center of The Runarounds<\/em> isn\u2019t ruling out an official crossover in the future. (Eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed J. Anthony Crane <\/strong>and Cullen Moss<\/strong> making cameos in different roles during season 1 of The Runarounds<\/em>.)<\/p>\n

Netflix introduced Us<\/em> to Outer Banks in 2020, which follows the conflict between<\/a> two groups of teenagers in a coastal North Carolina town \u2014 with a side of treasure hunting. Outer Banks<\/em> catapulted stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Drew Starkey, Carlacia Grant<\/strong> and Austin North<\/strong> to fame before Netflix confirmed in November 2024 that season 5 would be the show\u2019s last.<\/p>\n

During season 3, which premiered in 2023, The Runarounds<\/em> were seen in the background playing at an anniversary party for Kiara\u2019s (Bailey) parents. Based on a teleplay from<\/a> Jonas Pate <\/strong>and David Wilcox<\/strong>, the fictional series, which is streaming now, follows the real band of the same name featuring Lipton, Ellis, Yun, Murdock and Golliher.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time we met we played a bunch of music together,\u201d Ellis recalled about the support they received from the Outer Banks cast. \u201cBut we also tried to act out some scenes. Thankfully we had Mr. Chase Stokes there with us just really coaching us.\u201d<\/p>\n
