Queen Camilla<\/strong><\/a> fought off a would-be attacker with her shoe as a teenager, a new book claims.<\/p>\n

The alleged incident is recounted in a new tome about the British monarchy<\/a>, Power and the Palace: The Inside Story of the Monarchy and 10 Downing Street<\/em>, an excerpt of which was published by the Times of London<\/em><\/a> on Sunday, August 31.<\/p>\n

According to author Valentine Low<\/strong>, the Times<\/em>\u2019 former royal correspondent, Camilla, 78, shared her experience with former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson<\/strong> during a meeting at Clarence House in June 2008, when Johnson was the Mayor of London. Johnson apparently relayed the story to his communications director, Guto Harri<\/strong>, who shared it with Low.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey obviously got on like a house on fire. He was making guttural noises about how much he admired and liked her,\u201d Low quoted Harri in the book. \u201cBut the serious conversation they had was about her being the victim of an attempted sexual assault when she was a schoolgirl.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tQueen Camilla had a winding romantic journey before she settled down with King Charles III. Camilla and Charles were introduced by a pal when she became a debutante in London\u2019s high society in 1965. The pair began to date in the 1970s before he had to leave for his Royal Navy service, and Camilla moved [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to Harri, the queen was around 16 or 17 and on a train to Paddington, London, when \u201csome guy was moving his hand further and further.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson asked Camilla how she reacted, to which she allegedly responded, \u201cI did what my mother taught me to. I took off my shoe and whacked him in the nuts with the heel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was self-possessed enough when they arrived at Paddington to jump off the train, find a guy in uniform and say, \u2018That man just attacked me,\u2019 and he was arrested,\u201d Harri told Low.<\/p>\n

Buckingham Palace declined Us Weekly<\/em>\u2019s request for comment on Monday, September 1.<\/p>\n

Charles was under intense scrutiny as his mother Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s heir apparent when he met Camilla (n\u00e9e Shand) in 1970. The pair dated before the prince served in the Royal Navy. Camilla married husband King Charles III<\/strong><\/a> in April 2005. She was previously married to British Army officer Andrew Parker Bowles<\/strong>, with whom she shares two children: Tom Parker-Bowles<\/strong><\/a>, 50, and Laura Lopes<\/strong>, 47.<\/p>\n

Camilla is also stepmother to Charles\u2019 two sons \u2014 Princes William<\/strong>, 43, and Harry<\/strong>, 40 \u2014 through her marriage.<\/p>\n

Another book published in February, Yes Ma\u2019am: the Secret Life of Royal Servants<\/em> by Tom Quinn<\/strong>, alleged that Camilla wasn\u2019t interested in becoming queen<\/a> upon the death of Queen Elizabeth II<\/strong><\/a> in September 2022.<\/p>\n
