Taylor Lautner<\/strong><\/a> doesn\u2019t think it was \u201cwise\u201d to joke about Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> and John Mayer<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The \u2018Twilight\u2019 actor caused a stir earlier this week when he joked he felt \u201csafe\u201d about the news his former girlfriend was releasing \u2018Speak Now (Taylor\u2019s Version\u2019 ) \u2013 a re-recorded version of her 2010 record which features \u2018Back to December\u2019, a song said to be inspired by their brief romance \u2013 but was \u201cpraying\u201d for the \u2018Gravity\u2019 hitmaker, who is believed to be the person unfavourably portrayed on the album\u2019s \u2018Dear John\u2019.<\/p>\n And now Taylor has admitted he may have spoken out of turn.<\/p>\n Speaking on \u2018The Happy Hour\u2019 on TODAY Show Radio on SiriusXM, he said: \u201cI don\u2019t know if it was the wisest thing to say. I was definitely joking, but clearly it\u2019s taken off.\u201d\u2018<\/p>\n The 31-year-old actor admitted his wife,Tay Dome Lautner, \u201cknew immediately\u201d his remarks may be taken the wrong way.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cShe\u2019s like, \u2018That\u2019s gonna trigger the Swifties, or I mean, they were supportive of it.\u2019 I personally think John is a very talent musician, but I am aware of a couple songs that were on that album.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor admitted he and his spouse are keen to see the \u2018Shake It Off\u2019 singer in action on her current \u2018Eras\u2019 tour.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cAbsolutely, she\u2019s a diehard Swiftie.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u2018Abduction\u2019 singer made his controversial comments earlier this week.<\/p>\n He told Today.com: \u201cI think it\u2019s a great album. Yeah, I feel safe. Praying for John.\u201d<\/p>\n
