Sportscaster Lee Corso<\/strong> has made his final picks on ESPN\u2019s College GameDay.<\/i><\/p>\n

Corso, 89, stepped out at Columbus\u2019 Ohio Stadium on Saturday, August 30, dressed to the nines in a full tuxedo for his final appearance on the beloved weekend show. His fellow panelists also wore suits, though each added an oversized bobblehead of Corso atop their own for a surprise tribute.<\/p>\n

Corso has been calling college football games<\/a> on the ESPN show for 38 years, choosing the Ohio State Buckeyes as his first- and last-ever headgear picks.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of the easiest picks I\u2019ve ever made,\u201d Corso said<\/a> on Saturday. \u201cTexas is No. 1 [and] they have a Manning at quarterback. Poor Ohio State, [but] they got a chance. Give me my first love!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIn the world of sports, 2023 was the year Swifties embraced football, Kim Kardashian put athletes in Skims and Ali Krieger channeled her inner Beyonc\u00e9. While Patrick Mahomes earned the NFL MVP award, Corey Seager and the Texas Rangers won the World Series and the Denver Nuggets took home the NBA Championship trophy, Us Weekly [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Corso subsequently picked up the Buckeyes\u2019 mascot head and slipped it on, with the crowd erupting in cheers while giving him a standing ovation. The school\u2019s marching band also came out onto the field, and the musicians positioned themselves to spell out \u201cCorso.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many College GameDay <\/i>viewers later took to social media to share their own tributes to Corso.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t care who you\u2019re a fan of,\u201d one social media user wrote via X. \u201cThis was an incredible tribute to Lee Corso. Thanks for the memories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another added, \u201cLee Corso is a college football legend. Thank you for everything Coach.\u201d<\/p>\n

Corso\u2019s ESPN colleague Kirk Herbstreit<\/strong> previously spoke to Us Weekly <\/i>about his exit.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes you learn more from how people make you feel than what they say. He\u2019s the epitome of that,\u201d Herbstreit, 55, exclusively told Us <\/i>last month<\/a>. \u201cFrom the very first day I met him in my audition when I was terrified at 25 years old until right now, he makes everybody feel special. His eyes, his words. He cares.\u201d<\/p>\n

Herbstreit added, \u201cHe could have a broken arm, or in his case he\u2019s been dealing with a lot of health issues, he\u2019s always positive. He\u2019s always upbeat. He\u2019s always a guy who is grateful for what he has. Watching him be that way has made me that way.\u201d<\/p>\n
